[query] Is it a good idea to say a firm No due to medical reasons to a new night shift project I'm hired in?Accenture
I recently got a night shift project (2 days ago) that requires me to work from 10:30pm till 7:30am
I'm not comfortable with these timings and I'm thinking to ask my manager to put me on Bench (Due to medical reasons that involve mental health)
Is it a nice idea to say a firm No to a new project I'm hardlocked into, due to night shifts?

Take the time! Don't worry about what others are doing. Do what you need to.
Re client management, at the end of the day, the clients are the partners' responsibility and so you shouldn't feel like you can't step away. Obviously, do your best to find coverage and ensure a smooth transition before you leave, but fiercely guard your time off and enjoy it! It will likely be really busy before you leave and on your return... all the more reason to enjoy the time off.
I’ve found that the longer vacations (10 days or more) are the only ones that give me an actual break, anything less and people just hold things for you until you get back. I find coverage for every client and am really transparent with the partners and people covering for me that I expect to do no work while on vacation. This has worked well for me on my last two 10 day plus vacations and everyone was really supportive of helping me protect my time off. I don’t worry about optics. We all need to take the time to rest and refresh.
