Feeling super down today :( had to leave my job due to health reasons caused by an enormous amount of stress and poor leadership.. I am lucky to be a mom and spend some time with my daughter but I also need job security and health insurance 😫 I’ve been applying a lot and got more than 5 interviews but no offer yet... feeling so useless

Thanks so much, your words made my day 🤗🤗 my background is in internal controls/ audit readiness and I am in the DC area.

You made the right decision by prioritizing your health and leaving a position that was no longer serving you. The fact that you got more than 5 interviews indicates that there’s a job out there for you and you will find it.

When having career discussions (with a HM or your current boss), how has everyone handled job-titles that weren't "Product Manager" but you were performing the functions/role? I had a role in my past where our formal job title was "Senior Consultant" but we internally referred to ourselves as "Product Leads". I don't want to mislead others.

Deloitte folks - I moved to DT Canada last year due to not getting picked in H1. However US made it clear they will apply again (if and when I ask). Planning to have this conversation with PPMD mid Jan. Does anyone know if there a cut off imposed by Seyfarth after which they won’t consider candidate for FY22 lottery? I know they typically ask for info in Jan which is why I was planning to raise this again now. Just want to make sure I don’t miss the FY22 H1 attempt. TIA!

I work for a fairly small company. We have had a lot of growth recently. I made a comment that I was not happy with the company culture. The CEO wants to meet. We have a good relationship. I’ve got a really good job. Wasn’t looking to move but a big 4 consulting firm reached out. I received a very generous/life changing offer. I’m so worried about work/life balance if I take this offer. Also worried about layoffs in a year or two when the market gets back to normal. I’ve got an infant and a 5 year old. I know that I can manage my current workload. I don’t want to pass up a great opportunity but I’ve got to be available for my family too!

I (36F) am married to another woman (34F) and we have a baby (5moF). We split all childcare, cleaning, meal prep, errands etc fairly evenly and it works well. Maybe she cooks more than I do bc she likes it, and I clean more bc I need to have a clean house. My friend (35F) recently took a business trip and literally put a binder together with instructions for her husband re: daycare drop off and pick up, what to feed the kids, when to take out the trash and so on. Looking for support & validation.
I’m divorced & have 2 boys, 6 & 4 yo. Last week I took the 6 yo for a pedicure and he chose blue nail polish, well aware that he didn’t have to choose any at all. FFW to this week. It’s a “boys weekend” (kids w/dad). Their grandad is also in town, since Wed. Dad has called to ask to have the boys in the evenings (i have W &Th, always). I have said “ok, but only if you don’t say anything negative about the polish.” So… they haven’t seen them. This hurts.
