Feeling very burnt out lately. I go to the gym regularly, eat well and get adequate sleep. Any tips for cooling down after work, making the most of my free time and not feeling so burnt and exhausted?

Some troubleshooting ideas that have helped me:

1. Are you an introvert being forced to be an extrovert or vice versa?

2. Is your job / company mission aligned to your personal values?

3. Are you getting sunshine?

4. How’s your vitamin D levels? How’s your magnesium? How’s your omega 3 intake? Hydration?

Feeling the same and now I’m wondering if it’s depression

How does your work day go? Many times we utilize all of our energy at work without realizing it.

You also will want to mix in something fun during the week and something relaxing during the week.

Wednesday is typically my day where I don’t do much in the evening, just relax.

message me if you want to talk further

Maybe consider the people around you? Like you’re either spending too much time out and about, or conversely, not enough time with friends/family? Just a thought.

Get away from your phone, if you do have it turn off LinkedIn, this, read or listen to a non work related book. Do something to get away. I struggle with the same, sitting down to relax with my phone am suddenly I’m checking email, etc.

Find something that you love to do… and do it just because you love it.

Unpopular opinion here, but vacation in a bottle? It's a hobby...

I agree with some other comments around turning off notifications at a decent time and doing a hobby that you enjoy, which could be:
- reading/listening to a book
- taking a class instead of just doing a workout
- cooking/making something new in the kitchen instead of eating out a “favorite”/“regular” meal

You could even talk to your reporting manager openly about it in case the work isn’t as engaging. I also like to book a vacation or activity ahead of time so I’m looking forward to something whether it’s that over a weekend or a trip a few months out.

You’re definitely not the only one!

Is it weather related? I’m definitely lower energy on cooler/duller days. I find a short meditation or light yoga session often helps.

Sometimes the rut forms when you're doing the right stuff for yourself and it's getting old! You can always try shaking it up by finding a different type of exercise altogether or start experimenting with other cuisines. For me I start to feel very burnt out from going directly to the gym from work week after week. What I do now is kickboxing for an hour after work three days a week and do my usual strength stuff 4x. I'm a high energy extrovert, so this suits me and I had to find this new rhythm when I grew bored of my previous exercise schedule. Good luck!

Following because feel the same abs also worry I’m sinking into depression

Do something fun with your life. Going to the gym isn't fun. I found my passion in dance, which is totally unrelated to my work. It is what gives me motivation to be better in all aspects. If you go to the gym, you're probably really strong. Use that strength to pick up an outdoor hobby that would benefit from that - I'd give anything to be stronger so I can do more things I want to do! Don't go to the gym just for the sake of looking good. (not saying you do, but a lot of guys do. Knew a guy who was super fit but going to the gym was literally all he did as a hobby...what's the point!)

I’m a new grad seeking validation (or opinions) for my recent job offer choice.

Basic info
- Age: Early late-twenties.
- First regular job after graduating masters + my formal edu background was in urban planning.
- Chose a hybrid design/prototyping/coding role at a top-notch agency over a frontend developer role at one of the e-commerce giants.
- Would like to work in giant tech companies eventually.

Currently unsure if I want to follow a UX or a frontend.

I know there are a lot of people who are anxious about admissions consultants but let me say, they aren’t necessary.

I got an interview at HBS without one, all I did was send my essays to a few friends who I trust to perform an in-depth review and give feedback.

Much cheaper, and honestly more satisfying.

Admissions consultants work for some people, but lots of people stress out about whether they “need” one-the answer is no.

Wtf am I supposed to wear during the day so I look nice and don’t feel like a slob but am not overdressed?! Help plz 🙁 (fyi - 29 f, trying not to look shlumpy but also not too mature)

Does anyone have any book recommendations for information on buying a house?

Would you take a VP role at 4 months pregnant? I’m in house at Manager level and been offered VP at a large agency. Nice raise and obviously title will open doors. But I’m scared about going back to agency life and it’s hours and workload with a new baby. Can’t decide whether to take the jump now so it benefits me in long run or take the route which will likely be easier on me as a new mom and potentially risk slowing down career. Really torn.

Be careful what’s in the background of your screen if you are sharing it in a meeting. Yesterday I saw my boss’s gmail in the background with an active Job Hunt folder with unread messages in it 😐

To everyone working in the hospitality industry currently but also open to everyone else, how are you dealing with out burning yourself out but doing extra work because you feel obligated. The reason why I say obligated because I’m 3 months in to a new position and it’s been a lot.

Any single female consultants who have found solution to find a sincere SO after joining consulting ? I have always struggled with weight. When I dedicate to working out and dieting, I lose an immense amount of weight and look great, but it only lasts a few months. If you look at pictures of me over the last 7 years, it isn’t like first 3 years fat and then last 4 year thinner, but moreso one year fat, one year skinny, one year fat, etc. Im tired of this. How do you guys make this a lifestyle change? I feel anytime I have a rift in my routine (a trip, long week at work) I spiral and break rotine

At my last workplace, I had to follow up with an HR person six times to get something. Is it rude when I went up to her in person to check in again she literally told me “just go be busy and come back later.” 😡 she also was mad when I took my time for my ID photo (it’s just a picture), because I wanted to look good, but then had to go back and re-do my coworkers because his eyes were closed and he rushed his in comparison? Idk just venting🤭

The park was way over crowded today
