Any tips on resigning from a large boutique style firm? I worry this one will sting as I’m returning to my prior firm after a year with my current firm (prior firm offered an opportunity to specialize in my desired area), but I don’t want to burn any bridges and want to leave amicably. I resigned from prior firm during initial COVID lockdown, so not sure how to handle in-person resignation, resignation calls, emails, etc. as that was an odd time for everyone.
I am trying to resign from my employer and my offical notice period is of 3 months as per the agreement. The agreement also states that the employment can be terminated by either party with 3 months of notice or monthly gross salary in lieu of notice period.
But my HR says that they can't release me before 3 months and when i told them that its not fair practice then they told me to file a legal case against company.
Can someone suggest what should i do? What choices i am left with?
Can you share the salary bucket for Manager role in PwC India? And what CTC to expect after promotion.

Is there any such thing as salary correction in American Express? I joined in December and got to know that I’m being underpaid compared to my team mates.
Do you think being a manual tester / user acceptance tester will be something that offers experience a lot of companies will want? I know it’s not automated / coding, but manually testing functionality of a certain system or app I feel like is important too. I know the salary isn’t as high, but I’m curious if I should take it a step further and learn coding.
Hi Fishes, I am in the salary negotiation with a startup in Ad-Tech space located in Bangalore. I am in the HR field and the new role is exactly what I am looking for. But the CTC offered is 8LPA which is on the lower end considering average salary of the role and company.
Please suggest if I should go ahead with the offer.
I have no other offer in hand as of now.
Does your company offer bonuses? If so, are they guaranteed or conditional? I work for a prominent tech company and they don't provide bonuses of any kind, that's their policy. My spouse works at a startup that also doesn't offer bonuses. Maybe I'm just feeling a little FOMO this time of year but wondering if we're collectively in the minority.
Recently had some recruiters reach out to me about copywriter roles. I’m still pretty new to the industry, 2 yrs in, but I figured I’ll ask for a bit higher than what I’m used to. Soooo I asked for 70k. Then talked to a couple people who said that was too high for an intermediate. So my question is, should I be asking for less? I don’t want to switch jobs unless I get an adequate bump in my salary, but also don’t wanna reach too high and get passed over for someone else. Thoughts? 😫
I’ve been approached outside the firm for a number of roles and take interviews for the practice. Today a start up SaaS company called and when i gave my base salary expectation (which i thought would be wildly out of range) it was not even a flinch and “well within range” no wonder there’s a staffing shortage at pwc, these guys are throwing money at us, and I’m in marketing!!!!!
I have an offer from Wipro. But monthly salary breakup is not given.
What will be my Inhand monthly salary with the given CTC.

Hey can someone please tell me the in hand salary for this after all deductions and taxes , also is there any way I can get more in hand salary?

Current MBA, looking to go into product management. I’ve never had product experience and have to choose between a product management internship or a growth & analytics internship.
I want to be a good job candidate with experience but... The PM internship’s company doesn’t have the most exciting product, but the founder said he would train me on PM responsibilities. The other company has a cool product, and is heavy on mentoring but i would not be directly involved in PM stuff.
Which is better?

Went through a terrible breakup last night. Barely got any sleep and feel terrible. Work requires me to go into the office every day, but I can’t imagine sitting there, trying to get anything done. I’ve already put in my two weeks at my firm so I’m just wrapping up a few assignments. Should I go in and try to get stuff done? Or should I just let my boss know I’m dealing with personal issues and take the day?

Recent transfer to a smaller office and have not been paying attention to my work attire as much as I did before because I don’t see many people around the office. I maybe see 3-4 people in the hallways. But people treat me differently when I bother to dress up a bit and I struggle to consistently do that and I just prefer to be comfortable. The extra time and effort also feel exhausting. Do I need to care more about appearance? How do you manage to look “professional” on a daily basis?

I haven't had to submit a resume or do an interview since 2008. And that feels like 2 lifetime ago in the world of job placement. So what types of resumes are employers looking for? Mine is bullet point style. I get to the point of my job description. But I've been seeing paragraph style online which seems antiquated and filled with lots of overselling. I'm applying for a editing position with a legal publisher.
