Yes jump ship. That extra 60k will drastically change your life. Also who says staying local will make you happy? I left consulting to go into industry thinking I would enjoy being local , etc... I quickly found the opposite.

What’s your current title and TC and new title and TC

which b4?

Will 60k have a bigger positive effect on your life compared to the negative effect traveling has / has had?

I assume that you are in a non-travel job. In my opinion, the change from 210 to 270 is not that big of a hike that will keep you happy if you are not open to the idea of 80% travel. Have done something similar before, and was happy to see the first pay check, but I complained a lot for next six months until I found another opportunity.

I know right now many people(especially in audit) are jumping ships from one PA firm to another! Please, please, make sure that you get the highest possible base salary and sign on bonus!!! Those firms don’t want you, they need you!!! So make sure to squeeze as much money as possible and remember that they won’t think twice to squeeze you as well as soon as you join them.

I have a long flight coming up (with two layovers, and one of the flights is 8 hours long — red eye). My daughter is 2yo and I’m debating whether we should take the car seat with us or not. She’d be more comfortable in the plane and would be easier to “restrain” her… But the thought of carrying that huge and heavy car seat across four airports doesn’t sound very appealing. Any advise?
