I am confused. What does he do after exercise?
I dealt with pretty bad dandruff when I was younger and got into a habit of daily shampooing with head and shoulders. Now if I skip a day my scalp feels gross.
GENES.
I've heard people using really weird strong stuff but their genetics give them enough booster shots to stay strong.

Once a day. Bumble & Bumble shampoo and conditioner. 48 years old and the fullest head of hair of anyone I know.
Shampoo 2x a week, condition 3-4x
Once a day, Head and Shoulders

Once a week
Typically Thursday
Daily
I shampoo everyday when I shower. I’m sorry I can’t imagine going 2-3 days without shampooing. That just seems wrong. And I’d feel bad for the people around me.
I take it you have short, short hair

With WFH, I generally wash my hair 3-4 times a week and use Pert, either the hydrating one or the sport one depending on which is in stock when I buy shampoo.
Before I was 100% remote, I washed my hair 7 days a week with Pert.
I swim 5-6 days per week, so my hair gets super chloriney if I don't wash it fairly frequently.
Once every six months or so. Usually just condition.
I get my hair wet and condition. Just don’t use shampoo.

I shampoo every other day. Used to shampoo every day.
Only when I get a haircut. Every ~10 weeks.

I know they say shampooing everyday can damage but that does not really apply to guys if you cut your hair every 6 weeks. The hair isn’t ‘around’ as long as it would be for females.
That is factually incorrect. You can notice some people with buzz cuts have fizzy hair. Shampoo strips the oil from your hair causing damage.
For shampoo important thing is to make sure that's is sulfate free / paraben free.
I'm assuming based on your question that you're balding, and the root issue is genetics. If that's the case, you should start finasteride/dutasteride, minoxidil once daily after showering, and derma rolling before applying minoxidil (if you're super into it). There's a lot of data on the efficacy of these drugs in promoting and maintaining hair growth.
Anecdotally, I've used all the above before and have regrown some / maintained for the last 5 years.
I think minoxidil works anywhere. The studies they did were only focused on the crown but should be just as effictive elsewhere. Ymmv depending on how aggressive your hairloss is. Personally takes me less than a minute to apply. If you do use it. I'd recommend liquid over foam as it generally seems to have better absorption (based on my experience and the people I used to read on reddit lol).
I think minox is same as finasteride / dutasteride. You lose all your gains / maintenance when you stop. If finasteride isn't giving you the results you want I'd refined switching to dutasteride. I didn't really see much improvement until I switched. Started with finasteride for 1.5 years before switching over to dut. Dut is also the go to for hair loss in Asian countries like Japan and Korea and seems to have better results overall as well based on studies. I was afraid of sides but didn't really experience anything if that's any comfort.
My hair loss was mostly crown and at the temples. Crown has stabilized / seems to grown back some. Temples have stayed the same.
Be lucky you have hair
