From what you’ve mentioned, I don’t see a reason not to take it. Curious though, what kind of work are you doing now? What kind of role in industry?
I’d take it. Your current team/client arrangement is temporary and you don’t know what will come up next. If you like the people you’ve met at the industry company and are genuinely interested in the work on top of the pay increase, I don’t see a reason not to take it.
It sounds like a no brainer, I agree.
The emotional capital and investment is a mental hurdle that I’m having a hard time with.
I know I’m not indispensable but it hurts to do this to the team. Sigh.
If you give ample notice (minimum 2 weeks but more is nice) and leave on good terms, then no problem! I’m sure your team will be very happy for you.

Take it. There are great teams, projects and clients everywhere. Take the salary bump and time out from travel and enjoy a new experience!
