1.Dir of Finance at a pre-clinical stage private company. Would be second G&A hire. Currently everything G&A is done by CFO. (no consultant)
2.Controller/Dir at a Phase 1 private company. Reports to CFO. Currently uses consultant for accounting
3.Dir of reporting and accounting (with a "promise" to promote to controller in 1 year) at commercial stage company planning to go SPAC IPO this year. Report to VP finance.

I’m a first-year corporate associate planning on leaving in Sept. for a 2-year MBA. The idea when I first registered for the MBA was obviously to move away from BigLaw, but I’m not opposed to coming back to the firm.

How do I go about breaking the news that I’m leaving in a way that doesn’t burn bridges or make partners upset? I’m still a few months out so idk if it makes sense to tell them now. But I also already know for certain that I’m leaving, so I’m worried that sitting on it is worse.

I am a new associate and started 5 months ago. I have been working on various deliverables such as decks, and reports. I am keen on flagging (either by comments or highlighting) any inconsistencies I see when I am am working on something especially a large document. My PM went through a huge report that I sent and I noticed that it was submitted to client with a few of my highlights leftover..
