How do I reset my expectations and ensure I work harder? I was expecting a promotion to manager this year (3 years as a SC, post MBA) because I’ve led an engagement, sold some work in previous fiscal years, had high utilization, and have made an impact internally within my practice and home office. I didn’t get the promotion to manager and I want to make sure I don’t have expectations that things will get handed to me in the future.

How tough is it to break into a FAANG PM role at mid-level if you have less prestigious experience? Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks

I'm new to corporate industry and looking for answers from experienced professionals.

I’m a designer, just over 3 yrs experience working after undergrad, 1.5 yrs w/ my current firm, and over 10 yrs w/ Adobe programs. I find that in my job, senior designers will often give me direction by explaining how to use software (Eg.—“make a new layer, copy XYX onto that layer, go to master pgs and add XYZ, etc.”). I want conceptual/high level feedback, but I feel like it’s rude to say “I know how to do that.” How do I respectfully get design direction that also respects my competency?

Hi, I am a technical consultant, really a full stack developer, with 5 years of industry experience. My work life balance right now is great and I don’t see a reason to go anywhere but I am being approached by other companies with much better salaries. With that being said, I have brought that up to my manager and he said to come up with a number that would make me stay. Given that information, I have done my research on Glassdoor but I am curious what you all have to say a good range would be.
