They’re all trash. Modern D&I only emphasizes LGBT and white feminist issues as those are easy topics. They hardly touch on race, and if they do it’s never a black issue.
I’ve seen this a lot. Huge unaddressed area.
It’s all lip service.
Where you at right now OP? I did 4 different firms over 12 years incremental 2 if we count internships. I’d have to say PwC from my experience.
They did and do all those things but don't let those things allow you to slip into the sucken place. The push is serious from top leaders but that sentiment doesn't trickle down. PwC is the epitome of well meaning white folks.
Rising Star
Across all D&I or specifically for us?
They’re all terrible but have only seen a decent* amt of black ppl at Accenture. From recruiting and such at college it was clear who actually had color* vs. who didn’t. But D&I efforts should go beyond just getting ppl in the door and satisfying a number
*still small but comparing to other consulting firms a lot more lol
M2 can you explain further because I believe what you’re saying was mentioned above
At the very least, it appears that EY promotes and rewards black ppl the same, if not faster, as our counterparts. It was absolutely not this way at Deloitte. In fact, I heard SEVERAL accounts of black women being rated below average because of their attitudes, despite exceptional service so they weren't placed on PIPs. The promotion and reward aspect is much more important to me than a conference and a resource group, though
All D&I preferably - but any insight would be great to hear about
Mine too. Stuck between leaving or trying to spearhead D&I
M2 I hear that. I just need to mind my business lol
Microsoft!
Also, I’ve heard good things about Amazon.
BCG does a pretty good job if you’re on the consulting side. If you’re not, they don’t care about you.
Signed, somebody not on the consulting side
Thanks for sharing this M1. This is something that I was definitely not aware of
