Fellow consultants, i haven’t gone to a movie theater in a year and was thinking of going this weekend, probably regal cinemas. Family wants to see the new Disney movie. Has anyone gone to a theater recently? Was it safe? We will have kids and high risk people with us. Thoughts?

Are the high risk people vaccinated? If not then definitely stay away. We went recently with kids. Cinemark has an option to rent an entire theater for $100-150 and you can bring up to 20 people. It was definitely worth it, felt safe and clean.

Yep do this, it’s not expensive at all and much safer.

Change of plans... it will only be me (40) and kids (under 10). Safe to go now?

I guess so, try to ask for a seat row which doesn’t have many people around.

What area of the country? Use common sense. If you’re in a part of the country where cases are on the rise, it’s probably not a good idea. If cases are going down or holding steady where you are, might be ok. See what the theater is doing, protocol-wise. I think Regal cinemas allow you to buy tickets and choose our seats in advance, so do that and make sure your group is away from others.

Definitely vote for the rent the theatre option..in IL and one of our friends rented out a screening room at the local AMC for ~200$ with a maximum of 20 folks allowed. Gave us good room to spread out and kids had a blast..,

Yes we went and it was awesome. My husband rented the entire theater and it was affordable and we had 8 total people go see Wonder Woman. This is a good option if you are nervous

Hey everyone. I’m currently a big 4 analyst with < 3 years of experience doing financial services roles from BSA to PM to tech analyst. Also my first interview since college so I’m very rusty

I’m vaccinated but getting very nervous about the delta variant. I’m reading a lot about pretty bad breakthrough cases. My husband is immunocompromised (but vaccinated). Most people at my office don’t seem to care at all about Covid, we don’t have a mask policy, etc. I’m getting really nervous about spending so much time in the office. Ugh
