Depends on the type of recruiter. The ones that hire for technical roles make a lot of money. The healthcare ones make less. Many recruiters rarely work more than 25 hr/wk but get paid full time. They work from home and sometimes end their days early at like 2pm. They have the occasional stressful day but I don’t feel like it ever compares to healthcare workers who deliver direct patient care. If the team has a separate recruiting coordinator and sourcer, the recruiter barely does anything. Most of the hard skills you need to be taught for the job can be taught within a month. It’s a relatively easy job, but since everyone wants to become one, the market is flooded with applicants.
Great information… I really appreciate it as I’m considering both healthcare and corporate recruiting.
I think it's a great gig if you can get it. Can confim that my roommate is a healthcare recruiter and he has very few stressful days. Works from home, oftentimes has a pretty short day done before 4pm. He makes great money and it worked out for me because he got me a job.
If you don’t mind me asking what company do you work for?
I go back and forth on recruiting...it's rewarding and it's great to see people fit into the roles and get something good. But equally it's tough when you're filling a role you know is gonna be tough and trying to deal with everyone's expectations
