Just accept the sad reality and move forward.
I am also in same boat. There is no option but to accept
I think part of that is EY “better safe than sorry” policy. At PwC is takes at most 3 weeks to file an LCA amendment (and you can be onsite the moment you file).
But I agree. Its disheartening. I am working my fucking ass off each day, and the only reason I’m stressed is because of the constant “unknowns”. What if my amendment doesn’t get approved? What additional speed bumps will I have to deal with for my I-485? I don’t even know if I’m allowed to stay in the country post January 2020. And don’t give me the bullshit of “you can always move to Canada”.
Def feel you PwC, that future instability and unknowns are the worst part of it all. Especially for people who want to have at least some control over things
For context, any engagements more than a month require additional paperwork to be filed before being able to go on site - paperwork which takes a month to file...
I submit my paperwork as soon as I can. Thankfully, just got on a long term project so won’t need to file paperwork for a while. But yes, the requirement sucks!
As a US citizen I can't move to Australia or New Zealand easily and get a work visa and a job and it is something I would like to do. It is annoying to hear all these H1Bs complain about LCAs taking forever. You got a job and you live in the US. Be happy. Many US Citizens are not even making close to what you're making. I am so annoyed with the complaining. If you feel you can't work here go somewhere you can. I'm happy to work with the people who don't complain and just get stuff done.
Couple points here.
1. Australia is actually not that challenging to get a visa for, all you need is employer sponsorship, which is the easiest part of the US process.
2. I'm not complaining about the visa application process, but the onorous ongoing requirements that impede my ability to perform my job. This isn't an apples to apples comparison
