I am on notice period with Tata Consultancy with 2 months remaining with an offer in hand where the joining date is just after notice period ends. Now, I got early release from current company and thus, I saved 2 months. But I want to use these 2 months for travelling, upskilling and looking for better offers instead of contacting the new company for early joining. So, if I join the new company after 2 months will this be considered as a 'gap' in my profile in the future and will it be harmful?

Dude you signed a 2 year lease in this economy?!? You have balls.

NYC- was able to convince my landlord to give me a 15% reduction for a renewal. Play hardball. Tell him you will leave. And actually do it. Tons of great deals to be had as there will be a ton of vacancy
Yes renegotiate and leave if your landlord won’t play. Landlord needs you more than you need them rn
Yeah...rent has got to be falling.
I’m NYC, went up 6%, negotiated only 3% ... not worth it to leave bc I’m slightly under market for sq footage & it actually doesn’t look like there are great vacancies ... would you want to live somewhere you’ve never seen?!
Same rent for the next year. Tell landlord point blank you can't take the risk of 24 months. Be ready to move. Hardly anyone is raising rents in this economy.
In Brooklyn but lived in LES, would say to negotiate super hard if you don’t love the place and relatively hard if you absolutely want to stay, but harder nonetheless
Negotiated for no increase from current monthly rent and month to month (60 days notice). They happily accepted.... have a feeling we could have asked for reduction and they would have agreed but we’re already paying way under market
Doorman/rental hi-rise, downtown near Brookfield Place. My building has a lot of families w/young kids, business ppl that only visit a few weeks per month, etc so I suspect they are already loosing a ton of renters. If you are a good tenant (pay on time, haven’t had any issues, etc) you may be able to make a strong case for lower $$$

3% and I already pay the least amount of rent in the building for my layout 😂
Same! I snatched a good deal last year for my layout
