I just got a 3 month contract offer as Senior Paid Social Strategist at Meta through a staffing agency. I have a fte with an early stage social commerce startup atm. It’s great pay but the current climate for startup fundraising is so uncertain.
I’m really conflicted between the two. On the one hand, a name like Meta would be a great resume booster (I’ve never worked for a FAANG or big ad agency.) On the other hand, 3 months at a shaky Meta could also leave me in no man’s land. Thoughts? Facebook (Meta)

How do you prove they caught it at work?
Viruses leave a path behind in terms of transmission order. There are virus signatures that allows you to identify that person C got the virus from person B who got it from person A.
Now the one additional link is that person A and B didn't meet outside of work. (For the sake of argument, let's assume they didn't meet outside of work, and it can be proven that transmission occurred at work)

Workplace injury lawyers will run circles around these corporations, especially if people are “forced” back.
No, the employees wil have no case.

Law is that companies need only make reasonable accommodations for safety. So you'll have a lot of lawyers making good money to determine what that is. For the most part it will be pretty difficult to hold them liable I think.

Sure but I would have low expectations of a successful claim.

Outsourcing everything to Mexico, India or China, no liability needed.
I am not sure why you politicized the question. However this maybe a new concept for accountants and consultants, but it isn’t for medical pros, police, grocery, mechanics, construction, etc. People have been working through this entire pandemic.
Accenture: what is your source of that?

So I am not a Republican, but. My train of thought on this one is that companies shpuldn't be immediately liable for people getting sick after asking them to come back to work.
That said, people shouldn't lose their unemployment benefits if they refuse to come back.
If they do get sick they should be placed on medical leave with wages paid by their employer (I think there is a federal program that helps or mandates that already).
If the company however didnt provide reasonable accomodations, then they should be held liable.
