Female, 26 and master degree(meaning just got out of school), I am so tired of my mom nagging me every week about getting married and having a kid. I am a kid, it's hard enough to provide myself.

Correction - she left me alone about getting married and having a kid. She is overly involved in my life though and loves pointing out everything I do wrong (not her way). Typical Eastern European Jewish mother.

Ha! Exactly! Like don't even worry abt having sex, just give me a grand baby.. Doesn't help that my 32 year old brother is married with 3 kids and my 30 year old sister is engaged with 2 kids 😩 @EY2

Just wait until you are 29 with no kids and not married yet.. My mom literally asks everyday if I'm knocked up yet 🙄

Tell her to stop asking! Had to do the same with my dad. Told him I have other priorities in life! He stopped asking... 😊

Actually, not the wrong thread. 🙈

Sounds like a Jewish or Eastern European mother (or both). Or Italian. I started hearing it from my mom when I was about 26. But then I got pregnant and married and she left me alone.

@EY4 I'm with u. At this point my parents are fine with whatever means I have to have a child

Just broke up with a guy who doesn’t take ANYTHING seriously. Everything else is great but he’s such a child. Was hoping to have a serious conversation today about our relationship. I’m 31 and he’s 33 and I don’t want to continue if he has no long term plans. He’s introduced me to his parents (first girl) and his dad was visibly relieved his nerdy son finally had a girlfriend, but he still won’t label our friendship. Says we’re “more than friends” and he “likes me a lot” (continued)

I’m alive today because my mother, who was a teenager at the time, was convinced by her religious mom to not get an abortion. I am still pro-choice. It led my mother to drop out of high school, and I ended up being raised by her mother. Things worked out and I ended up becoming relatively very successful, but I am an n=1, and the person who used religion to convince my mother to not abort me ended up raising me herself. Many are not as fortunate as me. Again, I am strongly pro-choice.

Mom's I'm looking for good Swaddle recommendations. Also any inputs on how to start self soothing for my 21 days old baby. Indian here, we don't usually do cribs our elders always recommend contd

Obesity is a chronic disease not a choice and it should be treated as such.
By both “body positivity” challengers who too often say obesity comes from laziness and lack of strong will and by obese people who also too often shield themselves stating “this is how I am, it is impossible to change it” when in fact they do not want to accept that fat is literally killing them.
Thoughts?

I’m worried about being able to have children in this industry. As someone who works in tax and whose hours just seem to keep getting worse and worse - summer hours seem to be creeping up, winter and fall busy seasons keep getting worse and worse - how do you all do it? How do you have a child and manage to work these crazy hours?

The Mom Project is how I discovered remote accounting positions. I’m a father of two girls under three and I wanted to work from home to watch them grow up and I also have an extra bedroom so WFH is ideal for me.

What I like about The Mom Project is that it gives you salary expectations and they will email you jobs based on your criteria. My search criteria was remote accounting positions and there are some really lucrative remote full-time jobs and remote contract jobs.

My baby daughter is almost 1 and I’m looking to stop breastfeeding and wean to cows milk soon. She has had very few bottles in the past 12 months (combo of Covid + she rejected bottles for several months) so we’ve primarily been nursing. I’m looking for weaning tips from parents in a similar situation. Seems like most methods involve combo of breast milk + cows milk in a bottle but that doesn’t really work for us since I haven’t pumped since like November!

6 weeks pregnant and already feel like crap. So tired and nauseous. Sustaining off bagels. Ugh, first trimester you’re the worst and I know it will get worse before it gets better! Just venting

I got my child vaccinated today. He is 6. It’s what his school and pediatrician recommended. We live in downtown NYC, we were here when it hit, and it was hardcore. I had doubts about the 5-11 vax, read the data, had theories in my head, but decided to do it, so I’m at the clean, calm site, hugging my boy as the needle goes in. After, we got ice cream and the street vendor saw his vaccination sticker and said, “Welcome to the club, kid.” I love you, New York. This is for him, and for you.

My creative marketing agency Codeword is hiring a Jr Art Director and a Sr Art Director! The company is about 80 employees but owned by a bigger parent company (so, good benefits). We work with tech clients like Google, Linktree, Qualcomm and others. Would love to refer you if you’re interested! Message me if you have questions. We are not an ad agency, so there might be some differences there.
