Subletting my apartment in Dallas and I’m desperate. Willing to pay a full months rent for someone if they’re willing to take over my lease.

I'm an engineer, and I feel like my manager is more of a friend than anything else. We talk about our personal lives, and I feel like it's hard to be completely honest with her when she's so casual with me. I don't want to lose our friendship, but I also need to be able to talk honestly with someone who has the power to help me grow professionally. Is there a way to have both?

Is it legal to have old applications for applicants/new hires to put in their employee files? The way our ATS works is that a candidate fills out the employment app once and applies to numerous positions in the future. They are able to update but The problem is not all applicants update their application all the time so we end up with applications from 2019-2021 because we don’t have time to chase every person to update their application, but we do have any updated resume on file.

Anyone have a good setup for switching between screens on two machines? I have a MBP for work, and a Mac Mini for my personal/side gigs. Each one is hooked up via usb-c > thunderbolt 2 adapters to some older apple cinema displays. I want to be able to switch one of the screens back and forth to one machine or the other but I can’t find a good way to do it. Any solutions?

Im a ux/ui and visual designer with 5 years of experience. Last year I told myself this the last year I was working for someone so I didn’t Renew my portfolio hosting. So essentially i lost my work. Fast forward to now i need to get back into the workforce so I’m redoing my portfolio.

My question is what “regular “ or job that doesn’t require a portfolio can i get with the skill of a designer while I rebuild my portfolio and apply for jobs. Working for restaurant is not cutting it.

I finished my UX certification from OCAD university Toronto.
They did teach me a lot of UX.
But Very little UI design.
I'm a graphic designer with 8 years of agency and client side experience. I can catch up with figma but of course I won't have much experience.

However I'm not sure where do I fit since I'm planning to make a switch from graphic design to somewhere between UX and marketing.

What do I put in my resume if I don't have formal education?

I'm currently a jr-mid designer for a good company and have 3 years of experience but now I'm updating my resume and feeling insecure (as I usually have) that I don't have anything to put under Education. I am entirely self taught and have learned through non-certified short courses, UX books, & real world work.

I used to leave that part empty but now it feels weird to enter my experience w/o the education. Any advice?🙏🏽

I currently make 63k as a 3D Artist and been with the company 3.5 years. I have a few years outside of this company doing freelance work. I feel like I’m not getting what I should be at this point. I was told I may be getting a raise soon but I don’t know how much. I’m in Virginia, but with remote work now available, not sure what I should be looking at as an acceptable raise before looking elsewhere. Am I wrong in my thoughts or should I be asking for more?

Hey y’all, I wanted to ask in this bowl as well!
For those that are in big tech or not and have to RTO, may I ask the reason why they need you in office? Second, is it worth interviewing with these companies? I’m asking because I live in Houston and I prefer remote. Microsoft has reached out to me for an interview as well as Airbnb. I currently work remotely at a start up and enjoy it. But, I ask is it worth exploring these opportunities?

Just got an offer for 75k for a Senior Visual Designer. This will be largely web interface design, as well as some branding and potentially some Elementor dev work. The range I asked was 70-90k but it seems the base rate for a role like this is 80k. Do I counter (80 or 85k) or happily accept? It will be a 20k pay raise from where I am coming from :)
