What are your thoughts on buying second hand items like high chair, play gym mat etc for kids? About to be FTM and don’t want to spend a ton of money on something that my child might or might not be using. Do you have any advice when buying second hand items?

In contract on a home. Did inspection a few weeks ago (no issues). We went to see the house recently to take measurements and the seller already moved out. With all the furniture gone, we now noticed some mold in one of the walls. Seller is saying he’s not going to fix it and not giving any concession and basically take it or leave it. The contract says the house needs to be free of mold. We really want the house - should we just let it go?

Looking to buy a fixer upper duplex to house hack soon... If I put new floors in, would you go with laminate hardwood or laminate vinyl?

Feeling that my brain has been on “auto pilot” mode for years. I am Principal in one of the top consulting firms, promoted on fast track basis, so have not been “lazy” and doing good at work. 1. Manager MBB non-US.

TC = 180k, with yearly promotions of ~25% increases. Likely path to partner in 5 years, making ~450-550k TC.

2. PE Associate at a boutique, non-US.

TC = 250k, no clear promotion path.

MDs make >450k, potentially reaching 1-2M in good years. Absolutely no idea how long it would take or if it would even be possible at this boutique.
Also, MBA-sponsored. Would have to payback 180k in tuition in case of choosing (2).
