Finally emailed HR about potentially taking short-term disability or an LOA. Feeling like shit rn. I'll try to keep this updated regarding the process.

First update: HR sent me forms to make a claim for our group disability insurance, as well as state FMLA forms. I'll have to be evaluated by a physician, so I scheduled a telemedicine appointment in about a week.

Second update: had a meeting this morning with HR to go over the process and forms. There is a spot for a physician to fill out in the insurance form - apparently that can be either a therapist or a primary care doc, but sometimes they require a doctor, anyway, so I have an appointment Monday. The disability insurance will pay 60% for up to 11 weeks. My firm will pay a minor spend amounting to about $5K, spread over two months. I'll have a total protected leave of up to 12 weeks. If the insurance company approves my request, there will be a 2-week waiting period before payments start, during which time my firm will pay out my accrued sick leave. At the end, she intimated that, if I'm looking to make an exit, they might be able to help in other ways. I'm assuming she means a severence. I told her I would keep it in mind. Certainly feels like they're lining things up to push me out the door.

Third update: doctor is 100% on board with disability leave. Adding further medication. I'll be submitting the claim for disability leave to the insurance co. and forwarding the forms to the doctor soon. I've had my workload reduced by about 70%. I'm hoping to clear off the rest of my plate at work in the next week or two. Will not be taking on any new matters in the meantime.

I tell myself that I've come to terms with my husband not being very thoughtful or helpful around the house. But I was sick last weekend and he didn't even unload the dishwasher or put away the laundry I'd already done, and when I asked him to help me by getting me drinks and stuff, he would tell me 'in a minute' because he was on his phone, and then he'd get to it eventually or forget. It's like, can you pretend to care just a little?

I’ve hesitated in taking birth control due to weight gain, mood swings etc. I know it’s different for each person, but any recs would be much appreciated.

Just venting. I feel like a horrible mom. My daughter is 20 months old and she has been on and off low key sick (runny nose, no fever) for the past three months since daycare. She has been waking up screaming all hours of the night and I’m so tired I can’t handle it anymore. My husband has been so great with her and holding her all night as needed. Whenever I see him handling her crying so well, I feel like I’m the worst as I just want her to stop. Loud noise is too much. Always feel like

Do any of you lot worry about agism in the industry? I'm about 5yrs in and thinking about this more and more. Noticed thay most my colleagues, in mutliple agencies, were about my age with 5yrs give or take each way. Its obviously not a new industry, so either people were getting out of it by 35 or not many of them were getting hired past then. Been tellling myself ill learn to code one day to future proof but I've done fuck all so far. Anyone else planning for the future or am I being paranoid?

Hi all, I realize this isn’t a medical community but would still appreciate insights. I started Trintillix for anxiety / depression but ultimately insurance wouldn’t cover it. I switched to Wellbutrin and didn’t feel anything. I also now need to get off Wellbutrin because of some other medical things. What successes have people had for anxiety / depression? I have a history of eating disorders so really won’t take anything that might make you gain weight. Realize this is a tall order, but TIA.
