Nice. I’m currently planning out a pretty aggressive play area build for my daughter and this is one part of it.

Phase 1 finally complete.

Waiting on the crash pad that’s somewhere in delivery purgatory and more holds. Next phase, should they take to should involve some interesting framing.
That’s awesome!
Would love some ideas for aggressive play areas. My kids are rough and tumble and would love that.

My kiddos know my soft spot - anything that involves them being active. New sports gear? Done. Instruments? Which one?
My kids are 9, 7, 4, 4 (yes, twins). We have the biggest SpringFree trampoline I could find, a zip line, play set, rope swing, garden, chickens, bikes, scooters…the list goes on. We have video games but I try to provide as many alternatives as I can. Not just outdoor activities but instruments and art/science project stuff. I even just bought an Arduino for us all to learn together.
This wall - thankfully the crash pad finally came - was a way for us to provide an activity for poor weather days. They are fighting over it currently but we’ll see if that wears off. If it stays popular I intend to double its size and add an overhang.
The reality is that I’m just muddling through the whole parenthood thing like everyone else so I could be going about it completely wrong. I’m certainly not qualified to suggest anything to anyone. But for my family we just throw a bunch of “good” options at them, see what sticks, and pursue their interest as far as we can hoping all along that it doesn’t make them spoiled little brats.
Love it. French cleats and all!
