Your job is to really listen and obtain their trust. I don’t prepare at all for first appointments. They should leave liking you because you’re a likeable trustworthy person. If you start with Beta and Sharpe ratios you’ll lose them pretty quickly. I don’t research how to fix a car before I get my car fixed. I need to trust the guy or I don’t. Take good care of me put my interests first and don’t rip me off. This is always true

Decided that I’m leaving audit today. Trying to understand the full range of opportunities in forensics. Will have my CPA and CFE. So far, I understand that there are client-serving firms like FTI and then the B4 will have forensics arms as well. What are some other forensic accounting roles? Pros and cons? Better than audit? Honestly just looking to learn anything.

What are some other nice arts culture hobbies inspired by India?

Networking question here. A retired partner at the firm I used to work out reached out to me recently about attending an afternoon during the week (b4 4/30) with one of his long time clients. The partner and I have kept in touch since I joined my new firm and I feel like his invitation is a great networking opportunity since the client (who I have worked with before) is on a number of boards. Torn as how to request off as an S3. Could materialize to nothing but could be good for reconnecting.

Which CC is better for sign-up bonus - Citi Premier 80K points or Chase Aer Lingus/Iberia 100K Avios points? I churn somewhat regularly and am under 5/24 by 1. I accepted a job from a place my friend works. She got me in and I'd be dropping a title level but making the same $ as my previous role. I accept and 1 day later my #1 on the list came through. better title, pay and benefits. The first company is stoked to have me and everyone is nice. I'm sure on the culture. I reached out to company 2 the week before I accepted this offer and they weren't ready, but now they are. They seem great, but so does everyone when you meet them. What do I do?

I'm moving to Europe in a few months I'm also struggling with depression since covid started. I'm not running away, per se but I definitely could use a fresh start. Loneliness is definitely at the heart of the issue. I've spoken to friends/family about it, and they're doing their best to hang out but everyone got in relationships over covid so their time is limited. I see friends like once or twice a month - much less than pre covid. Any advice about staying sane these last 2 months?

I was a manager at b4, and moved to a F100 company as an associate for higher pay and different work. Few months in, I’m already acting as a manager on projects, and honestly feel like I’m sandbagging. Do skip promotions or fast tracks ever occur in large companies, or would I need to change jobs again for that?
