I went back to the office this month (3/4 days per week) and it’s been a positive experience. Plus it seems that some partners who are going in appreciated it. But the office is a 15 min drive away for me. Some people need to commute an hour plus to be there. Will they be at a disadvantage if they actually try to take advantage of hybrid WFH in the future?

Starting to feel some separation anxiety/guilt as we are starting up daycare again next week for my 2yo. It was fine for him to go before and while I actually went to work but now my husband and I are perm. WFH. As much as I loved the chaos and having him around the last 3 months, it’s not forever sustainable. But now I feel guilty for working and not trying to make it work with all of us at home. Just venting as I am sad that this is time is ending.

I’m a 2nd year civil litigation associate at a mid-sized firm in south Florida. My dream has always been to go in house but was dissuaded by law school professors telling me not to. I’m at a crossroads now because I’m OVER the billing, but my boss and direct team is quite possibly the most amazing and supportive group. My boss is always willing to let us work remote or take vacations. My question is, is the grass greener on the other side? Should I go in house now or wait another 3 years?

Help! Just learned that my parents (54 and 56) only have ~100k in their retirement account. Their house is currently worth ~800k with ~450k left to pay on the mortgage. Their income is ~200k combined. They insist that they’ll have enough to retire on with social security and after selling the house. However, I have a hard time believing this since the max monthly social security payout is ~3k per person which doesn’t even get close to the 70-80% replacement ratio. How screwed are they really?

Hello fishies! Curious to know everyone’s experience with networking during a transition. When chatting with someone who is trying to pivot into a new role, do you find that they often withhold saying anything negative or potential conflicts/challenges about the team dynamic or role itself.
