1/4? I'm never in the office
Yeah that's not true, even if you start at 20 and end at 40, that means an accumulated 10 years in the office. 10 years within that 20 year segment means you've been in that building 12 hours a day everyday including weekends and holidays. That's if you were there 20 years. If you're there just 10 years, you would have spent 18 hours a day. I think whoever gave you that training doesn't understand math or doesn't realize consulting folks typically work from client sites. I don't plan on going to the office more than once a month.
Look at you OW with your fancy segmentation
I assume they mean 1/4th of your daily lives, not lifetime. And the fire wardens don't know how consulting businesses work - they're former firemen usually. Also, conditional on being in the building during the drill, the probability that "many of you" spend 1/4th of your time in the building is high - think of all the support staff.
