We just had a new associate start today. They are still on their old biglaw firm’s website. As someone who was previously let go (and has had friends let go), I know what this means. PSA to people who were laid off/fired, remember to let your old firm know when you’re starting at your new firm so it isn’t so obvious that you were let go. I don’t judge people for being let go, but many people are not as friendly/kind.

I used to use lookup tables, or use a week count 🤮 which isn’t best practice for models that extend beyond a year.

I've seen so many friends take leaves of absence or start to move away from practicing. Not a good trend

I am so overwhelmed this year.... I feel like I'm not a good enough teacher for my students and at the same time not a good mom to my 4 year old and baby. There are days when I feel like I'm breaking. I'm not sure if this is the product of teaching during a pandemic or becoming a full-time working mom with 2 young children, or a combination of both. I just can't keep up. 😢 I always question walking away from teaching but I'm not sure if that would make life better for me and my kids.
