Clearance question: My mom is a naturalized US citizen who has been living in Iran since my parents divorced 15 years ago. I’ve been told that this will stop me from getting a clearance. Is that true?

Hi OD folks! I’m new to the field and I know how important it is to eventually ‘specialize’ in a particular area within the OD umbrella. In your opinion, what areas are the most interesting/pays well? (FYI I have a talent acquisition background, but not sure if or how I can leverage it). Feel free to share your experiences as well! I don’t know who needs to hear this*, but I think it’s important to acknowledge that a lot of the issues this industry has had with burnout and mental exhaustion weren’t caused by the pandemic and working from home.
