Does anyone know if the same 401k rules apply at EY as Accenture so they will cap the contributions coming for your check say if you hit the yearly limits in August? So if you hit the 22,500 in 23 there is no way to go over for tax issues. Thinking to frontload next year contributions if market is down. EY

Why y'all hatin on boston?
Boston is waaay better than DC/LA...
Push for 10-15 and take whatever they give. Boston sucks, you just got a gift handed to you
15-20% and we are talking.
Any less and they are taking advantage you
5% isn't enough. Ask for more
I guess I’ve lived in both and for me, Boston has more of a city-specific culture, where DC is a transient city with a lot of attractions and culture thats been brought in and packaged. I agree with your metrics otherwise and totally understand why one would prefer DC over Boston - I’m just the opposite 😊
Huge upgrade for you. Fahhhhk bahhhhstahn
CT1- Billerica isn’t even within the 128 loop, might as well have been in NH!
Also dc has no culture or personality. I️t is by far a 3rd tier city full of bland people trying to convince themselves that they didn’t want to live in New York anyway
^ true that
@CT1 I never thought I'd see the day Billerica gets mentioned on fishbowl 😂
Was starting to think I may be the only consultant to grow up there
B1- I was bit harsh in my response, didn't mean to be, I think I am a little over Boston for the same reason you probably feel that way about DC. I lived in Billerica myself....was a brutal commute into town.
Boston sucks but it’s a billion times better than DC. Also saying the schools in Boston are worse than dc is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard the prep schools are the best in the world
Damnnnn this got heated. OP just wanted to know about COL increase
Good luck, you won't get it
Not even close B1, it's offensive to compare Boston to DC. DC beats Boston in almost every meaningful category. Grade schools, average education level of population, avg salary, recreation, quality of life outside of work. Boston has the better hospitals if you do not count Johns Hopkins, a 45 minute drive away from DC.
This is true, I also live in Reston now, a DC suburb; albeit it is closer than Billerica is to Boston.
That said, for OP, I guess it comes down to what you value. For me, once it hit 40 I valued open spaces bit more, city life was really not for me.
Arguing DC has no culture is a poor and unsubstantiated response. It does have a large transient base, moreso than a xenophobic town like Boston. But it also has a multitude of amazing cultures you would never find in Boston.
