WLB in M&A space ? Either you are kidding or you are a newbie.
Maybe an alternate question is which Corp Dev and M&A teams have the best comp and the most influence/impact in their orgs? Hours feel worse when it's for nought and poor pay
Definitely not big monoliths. Complex matrixed orgs, too many P&L owners to weave through, already established product and strategy teams to challenge everything you propose. Companies right on the verge of going unicorn, just a hair shy of 500-1000 employees, and just starting to get acquisitive by bringing on a handful of bolt ons in a short period of time are the best.

I’m at a MM bank in Charlotte. WLB ebbs and flows. Some weeks it sucks. Some weeks it’s chill. This is definitely a job for people who like the constant stimulus. I’m ADHD and it’s been awesome to be involved in so many different deals at the same time.
Feel pretty good about my M&A WLB. Just depends on how you define it. Nature of the work involves grueling hours and not much separation of church and state, but again, depends on culture and what you’re looking for.
Try distributing that cash to the team instead of just at 1%
Currently in M&A tax. I have a decent wlb, no complaints.
