the company has made no effort to

I have an active Top Secret clearance and led Federal IT modernization/digital transformation engagements prior to joining Amazon earlier this year. My concern is that while I’ve led Cloud engagements in the past, I’m not certified or have a strong technical cloud proficiencies. Will this be a significant barrier?
Saw a job on LinkedIn applied for it and the CEO of the startup reached out to me saying he was game to move to the next stage of the process. Spoke to hiring manager and they even offered another position which matched my skills. Scheduled a full panel interview. Met with the team had a great chat, Founder even said "I guess you can start right away"..Hiring manager calls later says they'll update then boom that generic email hits my inbox. At this point you're just like arrrrrrgh😩

Where to find the best roommates that are friend-material, kind,'friendly, want to include you in their friend group, share similar values as you and won't judge you?
My married 🐠 friends: have you been struggling and having fights on ridiculous issues through lockdown and WFH. We are incredibly blessed, absolutely love each other. In fact, I can safely say I couldn’t have got a more supportive and better wife. Have two healthy and sweet kids and secure jobs etc. Simply put, we have no excuse to be fighting and yet we do just that. And we both feel terrible after it happens. Is this just frustration from lockdown. Have any of you experienced similar problems
Can we get a list of companies than are not FAANG/MAANG but are close to or as good in terms of comp and experience? I get that Meta beats the market in terms of comp, but honestly most people I know wouldn't work there these days. Amazon doesn't have rep problems but seems to have lost it's 2010's luster. Netflix is finally facing legit competition after years of domination. Google and Apple are great but are huge now. What's the next generation of FAANG?
For those based in Nigeria, how can we (non-Naija based) support the movement to end SARS?

I’ve been a contractor since December 2021 at a place that generally converts contractors to full time after 1 year. Keep being told I’ll be extended (as a contractor) but I’d prefer to become full time/a permanent employee.
Has anybody else gone through this scenario? What are best practices to let the employer know I want to stay on with them, but as a permanent employee and not a contractor?

Product School sent me a certificate for going to their conference. No, not for doing any trainings, just for showing up 🤣
I might even print this out and stick it in a drawer, just so I can pull it out as a prop to laugh about
How do you avoid project management from creeping out of Atlassian Jira, and into crazy excels? My organization has a bad culture of creating random excels, to track work for Jira features, and like you can imagine, managing work becomes maddening.
I got an offer that I would love to take, it is a jump for me role wise (Tech Program Manager) at a big company . But that requires move to Seattle from Midwest. I was looking at the housing costs and it’s huge difference. can anyone convince me if moving to Seattle is best bet for career, kids and family if I can put up with the housing costs. Salary wise not a lot increased as I was already making good enough. But I need a role change as I am stuck at where I am for a long time.
What's the difference between a digital analyst and a business analyst? Is it the same responsibilities? And how do they help the Product team?
Has anyone taken the PM course at Product school? If yes how has that helped in the transition to PM?
Move now. You can’t change the culture, so stating is a waste of time
Thanks for the comment. Sent the first couple of applications last night.
I’d say “Move” unless you have other motives like learning , gaining experience etc. Government has its own culture that you can’t change. Moreover private sector is reluctant to hire once you’ve worked long in Public sector because then one gets used to that culture. Private sector is cut throat, lots of challenges and learning opportunities where as public gives you security and comfort, so really it boils down to what you are looking for and what are your long term goals!
That’s also one of the concerns. Been in the private sector (change/project management) in a large tech company 6 years before making the move and would rather not having to face this during recruitment.
Also a lesson for everyone. Before you take any job , ask are they hiring, what happened to the previous person . You can’t change culture as a PM . Only top dogs can initiate corporate culture change .
Good advice and a standard question I ask in interviews. In this case the entire PM function didn’t exist and we all joined as new hires (other than the SLT seat).
PMs were great mentors before they jumped ship due to culture and red tape by SLT.
