It gets worse when they grow up and ask you if there is any way you can work from home for a week :( Chin up .... you're doing this so they have a secure future.

Not the same as paternity leave, but after the long weekend I actually though my alarm was a joke. Luckily i set multiple backups and didn't miss my flight.

Aw good luck getting back into the swing of things! I'll be going on mat leave in a few months and know it will be horrible when I do eventually go back next summer.

It is rough. I'm trying to leave consulting after having my little boy

If I had kids I could never do consulting. I think it's hard enough leaving a little one..

Had my 401k in all VINIX last year, and it served me well. I rebalanced to 20% large cap, 20% mid cap, 20% small cap, 20% Int’l, and 20% bonds. The Int’l diversification is pulling me down significantly. Would you shift that 20% back to large cap or just say it will payoff later to diversify? My IRA is pretty yeah heavy, so trying to be mindful.

So I found out an agency in my town is offering its senior female staff to not go on maternity leave and instead freeze their eggs. (Cont next post.)

I found out today that my employer doesn’t offer any paid parental leave (maternity or paternity). This isn’t a major issue now, but my wife and I are planning on trying in a year or so from now. How many other employers don’t offer any paid leave at all? Coming from public accounting this seemed outrageous to me, but curious to see what other companies are like.

Just started a new job and after doing some research found out they do not offer a Roth 401k. My choices are limited to a traditional 401k or After-Tax Contributions. After speaking with a friend who’s a CFP, he suggested I contribute only to the After-Tax, but I wanted to validate that advice here. If it helps I’m 24 and my current base is around 110k. Thanks in advance!
