The bench at Pdubs feels like death row right now, with an engagement feeling like a reprieve from the governor, or more precisely like a supervised furlough.
TFW all the New Years resolution people are at the gym and the regulars can't even get a flat bench despite the gym have 18 of them... and the people "using" them aren't actually using them
ON THE BENCH!! After almost 2 years of being on different projects, couldn’t be happier for a little break. What do folks do on the bench to enjoy it to the max? Do tell! 🤗
A President, who received 3 million fewer votes, gets to put another Justice on the bench after being confirmed by a Republican majority who represent 11 million fewer Americans than their counterparts, and 2 of those republicans were not elected by the people, but appointed by Governors. If you were on the bench for a while with nothing on your plate, would you volunteer for an RFP in your practice but in an area you have zero interest in? RFP is for an ERP implementation
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
ACN Strat: how common is it for people to be let go? Be it being on bench too long, performance, etc. Seems it’s a common thing at some firms

Working with a VP who I’m fairly certain doesn’t like me- he tells me I’m a high performer but makes snide jabs constantly. Worth it to have an honest conversation or should I try to roll off?
Campus hire here and have been staffed on my first project for about 5 months now. Pretty much 90% of my work stream team has either quit or rolled off this project bc of our manager. Feeling very under utilized, no clear trajectory in terms of project role, dealing w/ a manager who is not helpful whatsoever, and in turn suffering from severe lack of fulfillment. Have you been in a similar situation? How did you navigate through it? I’d really appreciate any advice or insight.
What’s the longest amount of time you’ve spent on the bench? And what did you do during the time? First time on the bench after 3 years here

I used to pay $99 a year for Hootsuite all of the sudden they auto billed me $588 for the same pro plan. They sent me an email stating I was getting a lot of features they had upgraded through the years and had to raise the price. Has anyone else experienced this? Did you find another source to use instead of Hootsuite? Are they fair in pricing?
I finished a final round interview almost three weeks ago. I followed up with the recruiter last week (Monday) and he said they were still finishing final rounds with the remaining candidates and I should hear back soon. I still haven’t heard anything, should I give up hope?

I fear the anxiety brought on by imposter syndrome is destroying me. How do you handle either? Starting to question if the work’s worth it. The money’s fine, but at the expense of my health?
I've been attempting to help some folks get their first job in Tech, either from other industries or new grads. I have a few questions for my fellow tech folks - 1) Do you actually hire TRUE entry level folks with no job experience (other than maybe a degree or certifications from boot camps, etc.)? 2) If so, what do you look for in a resume/cover letter that would help someone stand out in your eyes and get them at least an initial phone interview? Thanks in advance for any thoughts! :)
I recently switched job and joined another B4 firm. As part of the hiring I was promised with a sign on bonus. Now I have received the sign on bonus twice, in back to back paychecks. I know I have to somehow return the second bonus to the firm. Does anyone know how taxes work on this? As both the bonuses were tax deducted prior to deposit, when I return amount do I need to pay back the withheld taxes to the firm as well? Asking as the amount is big and don’t want to go in the IRS route. TIA.

I wanted to apply for credit cards to get bonus points. My credit scores are 799 with equifax and 798 with TransUnion. Have 4 hard inquiries still on the record. My application for the amazon credit card got declined last March when my score was a bit lower and got ~6 hard inquiries. Personally I think it sucks that we won't find out if the credit card application is accepted or declined until the credit is hard pulled. Is there a more reliable way to be sure of the application being accepted?
Interviewed for a senior UX role and got an offer letter for UX (no senior title). Said they wanted someone with a lot more experience and probably won't even hire for the Sr role for awhile. (Cont'd)
