smart casual means nothing torn or dirty (so jeans are fine but not that distressed pair), no shorts, shirts should have collars but don’t have to be tucked in, no sandals on men or running shoes (but nice fashionable sneakers can be fine, so are well-maintained boots). and yes, if you are not having a client facing day, this is in fact the official pwc US dress code in home office.

If you wore a suit your first day as an intern to assert dominance I would not want to work with you or have you on my team at all. Sounds like you’re an asshole. Wear a dress shirt and pants like everyone else and make sure your hair looks nice. And be ready to put in the work. As an intern you’re going to get a ton of things pushed down to you so ask questions, do what you’re asked, and don’t wear a suit

Hi! I’m majoring in IT & don’t know what I want to go into once I graduate. I’ve been set on getting an internship but it looks like I’m too late to land one for summer 2022 so I’m going to prepare for summer 2023. I’m anxious because I have no experience being 20 years old. I have 4-5 years of customer service experience but so does every student. What internships are more accepting of beginners? Project management, technical account Manager, Systems engineer maybe? Still learning the field.

If the intern asks how late I stayed last night I’m going to tell him. If the manager has a problem with that they can figure out how to staff an engagement so I don’t have to stay until 3:00am.
