First ever bench trial coming on appeal from an arbitration award in favor of my client. Client also won at magistrate level. Wondering/hoping I’d judge cares that my client already won 2x!

Something that severely gets into my nerves:
1 advise clients on tech and sometimes help them debug stuff.
This client told me they tested the solutions I gave and that it didn't work, and requested a meeting to sort it off. We schedule a meeting. I just inspected their account and they haven't tested shit, I can see the same code mistakes, they never tried to change anything.
I'm pissed. They're basically wasting my time and I don't even see the point in meeting with them.
Advice?

In one hand, Consulting is great for the family, you can be home at hours others can't to be part of your kid's daily life (breakfast, school pick up, bath time, etc.) in the other hand, consulting is hard, when your home you are there, but often pulled away to do night work, presentations, and SOWs. Client work needs to get done (at the same time my son is my number one client) Any Dad's out there who have some good guiding principles they have found useful to strike the balance (knowing some days things are just not balanced)?

What's the most engaging topic or project you've done with your students recently? Seems to always do well in my class when we incorporate dressing in character, doing historical research, and of course, [not lately] field trips.

I am a 2nd year associate at a plaintiff’s firm specializing in toxic tort cases (individual). I’ve had the opportunity to be third chair on a trial, and will likely be second chair in an upcoming trial. However, given the track record of the firm and the amount of money at stake in each case, I am afraid I won’t get any first chair experience, if any, for at least another 5-7 years. Law clerk still figuring out legal research. My firm uses Lexis and I did some jury verdict research. A partner later asked that I limit this to sustained verdicts but I can’t figure out the best way to do this. I reached out to Lexis, but their recommendation that I add “outcome(sustained)” brought my results to 0 no matter how wide I made the search. Is there a better way? Is there a way to check the cases I had found previously? Any advice is appreciated!!!

I lateraled from ID to BigLaw. I am finding that the staff upon which I must now rely are not nearly as knowledgeable, skilled and well-trained as those I worked with at my last firm. I am constantly correcting their mistakes and realizing they need a lot more supervision than my previous staff. I was once a paralegal, so I try to give as much grace as I can - knowing that we rise and fall as a team. But an error this week sent me over the edge and I'm beyond frustrated. Advice?
