Do good work. Otherwise don’t stand out as just you. Connections and networking and prestige are how you bring in clients and business. Embrace it.

My moms a judge and my father is a prosecutor. My first year of law school every attorney I met asked if I was going to follow in my parents footsteps. I chose a practice area that keeps me out of the same legal circles and no one gets the connection now unless I bring it up.

I am a Rainmaking Coach. I am also an attorney with a father who practiced for 56 years and enjoyed an incredible reputation. I used that to help me because his name was well known in the industry. And I stood out by being me.

The way you can stand out is:
1) Do great work
2) market your services but be authentic to you
3) market your services - it's not what you know but who knows what you know
4) market your services use the right tools and techniques to find you ideal clients and promote yourself in their circles

Use it if you’ve got it. Distinguish yourself through your work. Use every ounce of influence you have. Haters will use it against you and say you married your way in, but ultimately if you’re doing good work, serving your clients and community, does it matter?

Sooo my nanny fell asleep holding the baby. My husband and I work from home. So, he walked in, saw them and put the baby in the crib.
Ask: Any advice on how to address this with the nanny? Also, it it a fire able offense?

Context: Nanny started full time on 1/24; baby is not quite 5 months old; we are WFH and have cameras installed that are visible (she should know they exist); first time having a nanny

I am currently working in CitiCorp as Java Spring Boot Developer YOE - 6+ Years CTC - 12.6 LPA I am looking for a permanent wfh as its boon for women employees, i felt this will help to manage both family and work, pregnancy times, post maternity i feel WFH will give lot of support. I need all ur helping hands to guide me with good companies. i am scared about "Job Security" for wfh employees though i am very workaholic and work for almost more than 15hrs per day. Does HCL gives permanent wfh?

Hello Fishes,
My wife worked in a pharmaceutical manufacturing industry as a QA Officer. Due to maternity complication she took approx. 2 years gap for her career. Meanwhile she learned few courses like PV, CDM, Clinical Research.
Here my question, now she want to start her career again with her new skills in CDM, PV.
1. Which one will have growth CDM or PV?
2. Does they consider earlier experience because she had a gap.?

Waiting for few suggestions and if any reference 😊

Hi All,

I am 12 yoe, working at a very stable product based organisation (not NEC).
But I want to switch to a better role & compensation.

I got an offer from Thoughtworks GGN as a lead consultant. Being a mother, I have anxiety about joining TW, since it is service based.

1. Bcoz of the recession and hiring is not for specific project, is it the right time to join TW or is it risky w.r.t job security?
2. How flexible is TW for WFH or it depends on the client?
3. How is WLB?

Please help..

My husband is considering taking a job out of London (currently live in NYC). I’m very nervous bc I’m not sure how hard it will be for me to find a job. I graduated ug in 2014, have about 2 years with Deloitte, and spent a few years prior doing employee benefits consulting(which is mostly irrelevant in the UK 😂). My mother is French and I technically am eligible for a French passport so not sure if that will help? Any one have any ideas/tips/experiences as an American landing a job in London?

How do you start off at a new job?

Want to know people’s opinion or with learned experience as to best way to start off at a new job? As you all know the reward for working effectively is more work, does that change your mind about changing how you start off things? I have heard stories of people who start off in a laid back manner which helps establish good wlb for themselves. What’s your thought or experience? Just curious.

I am looking for a new job at the end of a long career. I have excellent experience in IP and Supply Chain Management. I've been fortunate to be in a high-paying position in the Los Angeles area and I rarely see comparable positions posted. The comparable positions at my company are filled by one of the big executive search firms. Any recommendations for finding the rare executive-level legal positions or for landing on the radar of the big executive search firms would be much appreciated!
