How do you all show a promotion/job shift within one company on your resume? Pics much appreciated ❤️
Incompetent senior is up for promotion this year and is mostly likely gonna get promoted cuz she knows how to kiss asses. A couple people on her projects already quit and no associates want to (con’t)
Senior Account Manager (similar level as Senior AE) making $85K. Trying to figure out how much to ask for during this next review time; looking at an Account Director promotion.
Thinking about leaving Tax as A2 to join a FLDP program. 25% raise, manager in 3 years after rotation. Looking to get out of tax, the program is ment for experienced hires but is merged with the recent grad program. Anyone made a similar switch? Please give any feedback you can.
Is it wrong to not want a promotion? Ive been told I’m on track for one soon but I still have sooo much to learn at this level and I don’t feel ready to move up. I am, in fact, terrified of the next step and the responsibilities that come with it. Has anyone turned down a promotion and regretted it? Been glad about it?
What does each firms performance review process look like? I’ll kick off - we have individual case reviews after each case and each 6 months we have a formal consensus review process where all seniors in the level above you discuss each candidate and their rating / promotion decision if they are up for promotion. We also have these mini consensus reviews at the 3 months mark as well within these 6 months to discuss off cycle promotions. What do you like / dislike about yours?
My PA CPA license is currently in process. I need to get licensed in IL as that’s my home state now but couldn’t apply directly due to not meeting IL education requirements. Should I atleast get my IL application started and submitted and submit the PA license to them whenever I get it? I know it takes like 2 months for them to even get to your application. I’m working up against a promotion so time is essential
I’m due for a review and possibly a raise. Any thoughts on asking for a raise during a pandemic?
The PL on my case makes every feedback feel like a personal attack - not only towards me, but towards everyone else on the team. He is unpredictable and choleric - should I raise this topic in my...
For data science roles, senior (L6) at AWS or post MBA level (specialist track, so same pay as generalists) at MBB? Comp is 20% higher at AWS just to start. But maybe looks like MBB has better upside - solid path to promotion to manager level with solid comp increase. But worse WLB and it's unclear to me whether MBB data scientist on the resume is up to par with big tech data scientist on the resume. Coming from big 4 so I am considering brand so I can do better with future resume screens.
Just got a big raise (50%+) starting July 1st that is going to move me out of income limits for direct Roth IRA contributions (prior to raise was under the limit) even with maxed pretax 401k and HSA - however I am already halfway through contributions ($3000). What options do I have to address these excess contributions?
Raise % for a second year senior in FDD?
Would anyone move to a different firm that is unstable but gives a promotion plus 50% increase for same job?
Anybody leave big law for a couple of years to raise your kids and successfully rejoined the legal field? Is big law ever an option again?
Anyone go through intense anxiety (shaking legs, sweaty palms)? I’ve been facing that for two years and feel intense pressure of smallest of tasks and lack of self worth about not getting a promotion
Am I the only one who doesn’t care about promotion? I’m happy as long as I am not bored / have something to do everyday, and working with fun / nice people
Any other associate consultants left the consulting industry and took a pay cut?... I'm happy about leaving consulting as I took a role at a start-up in the industry that I love, but, I will miss that pay haha. I'm getting $70K in Boston, and have two dogs, so a little worried about change of lifestyle lol.
Everyone I know who was crazy safe during COVID round 1 is now sick. I think it’s because they didn’t get any exposure for so long. If we have another lockdown, what does it mean for public immune system ability to fight other viruses?
What steps do you all take to prepare for layoffs (outside of an updated resume)? I’m not really expecting layoffs within my practice (fin services), but want to be prepared so that if it does happen I’m not spending months looking for a job.
Any big 4 ts/fdd managers or senior managers with healthcare, life sciences, fso or technology experience interested in joining ey?
Applying for a manager role in advisory at Grant Thornton in a HCOL, 10 YOE. What should total comp look like? Additionally, does Grant Thornton offer relocation bonuses? And if so, how much?
If layoffs were to happen in the industry, who does it usually affect first? Jr positions? CDs? Random positions?
Hi folks, I’m wish to break into tech sales as marketer. Have got consultative, training and prospecting experience in my own business but need to get back to traditional work. I’m based in Toronto and interviewed with a US SaaS company recently, open to networking with anyone in this area over a virtual hang! Would the next couple years be a bad time to get an MBA since we’re about to hit one of the worst recessions the US has ever seen?
What’s the deal with the CFE affidavit witness? Do I need to have one sign for it even tho I passed the exam while living by myself?
Anyone else starting to feel nervous about the extra $600/week unemployment going away? Also, is it just me or does it seem stupidly misguided that the Senate/WH prefer to send another stimulus check instead of extending unemployment benefits? Stimulus checks go to a much smaller subset of the population and aren't necessarily going to help those impacted by COVID layoffs. Not to mention the argument that it disincentivizes people going back to work is dumb when there are no jobs to return to.
What the average salary for a marketing manager with 8-10 years experience working at a Heath/wellness startup in SF?
Has anybody worked with HRBPs on HR-related issues/mediation/etc within a team? Can you share what role they play and how? Thank you 🙏
