One world govt with massive companies running the show globally. Mandating wfh and telling us how we should behave at home, online and socially.

Ah, I see you're a fan of the Deus Ex franchise or similar works of fiction, as well. All hail our corporatist overlords!

It’s been one heck of a year to be into cyberpunk hasn’t it? I for one welcome our new corporate overlords

It would be difficult to have a single global government that can come to any level of consensus. The cultural differences are massive between the fairly libertarian views of America compared to communist China or the conservative Middle East. If you took those three places, you wouldn’t even be able to come up with an agreement on what is considered a basic human right. That being said, I want what you’re smoking.

I’m planning to visit my parents after 2 years. Last time I went home, it was with a fiancé - that fell apart during COVID. I feel like a failure going home and can’t believe this is causing me so much anxiety. I want to feel happy about meeting my parents and friends after so long but I’m so not in the zone to deal with comments and questions about him. Anyone dealt with this before? Any advice is appreciated!

My ex wife was ranting about the latest season of American Horror Story and I jokingly said something and she responded by stating, as a matter of fact, that Eisenhower negotiated a treaty with Aliens so that in exchange for 5,000 citizens each year, we get peace with Aliens. She’s also anti-vax despite having been hospitalized for 4 days with COVID. I’m speaking to a lawyer this week, but am I unreasonable to think this thinking and behavior is grounds to modify our custody agreement?

Was preserving your wedding bouquet worth it post ceremony? I’m trying to decide if I’d like to have mine preserved and put in a frame or in one of those clear boxes that can be made. I’m getting married on Saturday at our home in a super intimate ceremony. We cancelled the big celebration after already postponing once due to COVID. It would be my one item from the day besides pictures and my wedding band of course. It’s not cheap, so curious to hear thoughts. Recommendations are also welcome!

What type of self help strategies do individuals actually find helpful when you feel burn out or stuck in a rut? Any books, apps, meditation, podcasts, etc, others find helpful? I've done therapy and it has definitely helped this past year with covid and a marriage separation, starting to feel like I'm making progress and want to keep up the momentum. Looking to see what type of self help others find actually beneficial and would love to use that to help others stuck in burn out too

For the women in Chicago. Are there any cool spots you feel comfortable going on your own? Broke up during Covid and I realize I never go to bars or restaurants any more because I’m so used to not being on my own. I can drag friends with me but damnit I’m an adult. lol. I should be able to do this on my own!

Women who are not getting the Covid vaccine because they are afraid of infertility or the effect on pregnancy - do you mind sharing your reasons why? I’m genuinely curious what resources you have used to make your decision. For instance, my friend says there is an NYU study that shows it has effects on fertility, and I have no clue what she’s saying because I can’t find this study anywhere.
