Can someone walk me through the Do's and Don't's of AA miles? I think they're a joke.

I have 65k miles and I could only pay for a one-way ticket from PHX-JFK. I had to book 1 leg with miles and the 1 with cash, but booking the other leg in cash was about 80% of the round trip in cash.

My mom has 12k miles that expire soon, transferring them would cost me $450. I can pay for a round trip with that cash but I can only pay for a trip to my kitchen with those 12k miles.

What am I doing wrong? 😂

So peeps, office opening up.

What's your plans on moving to Mumbai? Knowing apartment hunting can be a real bitch, some are planning to go back to hometown in the WFH week. i.e work at office at designated week and live in temporary accommodation, and then travel back.

Hey y’all! Any recommendations for black owned restaurants in NYC that can accommodate a group of 15-20 people? Planning an event for work and want to support! Budget is not an issue but preferably somewhere in Manhattan so folks don’t have to travel far from the office (though I know BK has some bomb spots so let me know if there’s a must try!)

Serious question - is there a reverse FIRE strategy? I like the idea of saving and retiring early, but the one hiccup I see (and sorry if this is grim) is if you die earlier than expected. I’d be worried that I would minimize lifestyle and fun for retirement at 50 but I’d die at 49. How about a way to work 9 months out of the year and retire/travel/relax for 3 months? This way you guaranteed your dreams/etc. are fulfilled

My fellow Higher Education Consultants - give me some of your amusing/irritating observations about the industry.

Hi! I just received a job offer that includes a sign on bonus to cover the cost of a certification that I’m getting (study program and exam fees). My offer letter states that the appropriate withholding and tax will apply. I’m not sure what that means - does anyone know if this amount should be tax free because of its purpose? It’s not a bonus or anything. I want to make sure I have a general idea before I ask HR about it.
