First time ask here: I was interviewing for an Executive and Internal Comms Manager role and after three stages, I got word that the role has been paused but the executive I would be supporting if I had gotten the role now wants me to interview for Chief of staff. Is that a good move? I'll definitely still be writing for the executive but who knows if that transition makes sense?

One of the worst double standards in corporate america.

Companies especially startups expect you to not keep interviewing when you accept an offer. “It can deteroriate your brand.”

But companies would replace you in a heartbeat for almost any reason. Including interviewing a candidate who will replace you (you will be fired as soon as they find a person)

So companies can mess with the little guys but we can’t look out for ourselves? Thoughts? ..

Hi! I am on a delicate situation in my career right know and I would like some advice.
I joined my current company 4 years ago as HR Generalist through Hays working part-time while studying my Masters and I was hired full-time in 2020 with a different title as HR support Specialist. 11 months after, my FTE reduced to 70%. My senior colleague by then working part-time requested becoming full-time again and promoted to Director. Would you leave in my situation if I dont have any offer yet?

If so, how long will it take?… Here is some context: Recently I made a career change from Finance to HR driven by the passion I have for the type of work; I find myself working nonstop precisely because I like this line of work… I even dream about work! Anyone ever have a panic attack in an interview? Like mid interview? The interviewer kept badgering you while you calmy tried to explain your answer, and their behavior triggered it.

I've had intense interviews before, but I have never had this happen to me. This is also my first panic attack.

I've been exhausted all day since, and now can't sleep at all (been up all night)

Salary disparity

My partner gets close to €20k/net year. I get >€500k. I already have a few properties and enough passive income to retire, so I feel I can enjoy the money. However, she always wants to split all bills, which I admire at the same time, but limits some of the experiences I can do with her.

Is IB worth the sacrifice of WLB? Obvious pay is really good but are the prestige and pay worth it if you’re planning on only doing it for a couple years?
