Anyone successfully negotiate maternity leave in industry? I feel like the only reason I’m staying in B4 is for the maternity/parental leave benefit. It’s hard to find a tax manager role in industry with a comparable 16 weeks paid leave. Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome!

WWYD: 35 years old. Just started aggressive savings couple yrs ago (started career non profit, then mba and then paying loans off). Cautious to keep dumping money into s&p since so much I put in was during aggressive growth of last 1.5 yrs. Currently $400k in 401k (all equities, mostly US), $130k in brokerage (85% us equities, 15% intl), about to put $20k (me plus partner) in iBonds. Have $175k cash (recent bonus mostly). Need $30k for wedding soon, then keep emergency fund. So ~$100k..WWYD?

I got paid a week ago, but still haven’t received 401k/HSA contributions. It usually takes a couple days to go through after each pay check, but this seems like a long time, right?
When a company transitions 401k providers, and funds are being mapped over, do the funds stay invested throughout the entire process? Or are there typically a few days out of the market? Cont...
Thinking of shooting for the CPA, any benefits to it while in IT audit? Would I be a somewhat better candidate to a non IT audit job with it?
What can small business owners do for retirement investing? Most don’t have a formal 401K plan set up bc it’s expensive - alternatives...?
How do you manage 401k withholding when you change jobs mid-year to ensure you don’t exceed the maximum contribution?
I currently contribute 8% ($6.4k yearly) to 401k and max our HSA & ROTH IRA. After that + regular spending, I have about $1k per month that I invest in a standard brokerage account. Traditional advice says to max out 401k before standard brokerage, but I also want to save for a down payment on a house in 7-10ish years. Do you think this is a good approach, or would you recommend more/less to retirement? I plan on contributing more to 401k as my salary increases. I’m 23 now
Left the previous firm, should I rollover to current firm’s 401k or rollover to my Roth IRA? (Currently has contributed $2k so far) would the amount (8k) rollover to my IRA exceed the $5500?
To PwC moms, is there a place on PwC website that displays all benefits for new parents? I am due in a few weeks and just found out that PwC insurance provides breast pump. I just wanted to make sure that I’m not missing on any benefit. Thank you
Want to move Fid 401k to vanguard, which fund to choose? Target retirement 2055 or something else with medium risk and good return. Please suggest, thanks in advance.
How do you muster the energy to care about what you do?. My job is utter bullshit. It benefits no one and no thing. How does anyone in this business think any of this matters?!?
How many months does your firm give you for maternity/paternity leave and how much do you get a month for childcare reimbursement?
How much (%) do you contribute to your 401k (including both pre and post tax)? Researching is very difficult bc consultants don’t even remotely resemble the average American financially, so just curious how I stack up against peers.
Anyone else in a long term project that feels toxic? I feel like I have no support whatsoever and feel like I have such major anxiety related to work. I can't even escalate a lot of my issues because a lot of the problems seem to stem from the top. Anyone had any similar experiences and willing to share how they navigated through this? For once it would be nice to feel valued...
I am going into a second interview for a project coordinator position at a new manufacturing company. I have gotten information regarding the number/type of projects I’d be handling. I expect the question regarding compensation is coming up. The PC job posting listed a $82-90k pay range. If I say $85-95k how will they perceive this? I feel somewhere between $90-95k would align with my professional experience. Thoughts and input would be much appreciated!
My full time job (not SMU) is literally making me sick-spent time at the ER. One associate quit and another is out of full paid parental leave (must be nice, I’m not paid for doing double the work)…so I’m now expected to do the work of 3 associates. My supervisor isn’t exactly understanding, and I don’t know what to do. I’ve been searching for jobs, but it’s difficult since my background is diverse and not focused on one area of law. If I quit, how hard is it to find a new job?
