Moved client side thinking it was “the dream” and feeling remorse now. Never realized how much I actually liked being on the agency side. Has anyone else been through a similar situation and gone back?

Any stories on the difference between how a client sees their brand compared to the rest of the world? My favorite was the "premium" spirit brand that was considered the well drink by everyone else.

As a PM, I feel as though I should own and manage the product. But Senior Leadership often comes to me with “we’ve promised this to a client so you have to build it”. There’s often little to no discovery of the benefit of building something beyond “client excitement in a meeting”. How do you handle these types of issues, especially when it’s CEO, VP, and Directors owning the roadmap and you are the executer?

A client (not a leader but an analyst is that matters) really yelled at me to a point that other clients on the same team reached out to me and said that I do not deserve to be spoken to like that. I learned later that he was on an improvement plan and that he speak to many (women) like that even his former boss. I was given the option to escalate if needed but I’m not sure if I should. I hate the awkwardness of this.

If I freelanced at Wonderful in LA (formerly Fire Station), does that mean I’ve worked client side? If so, it wasn’t all that different from a traditional ad agency.

Working on a strategy project. Six weeks to deliver a data and analytics strategy, playbook, and roadmap. The team of 1M, 1SC, 1C has zero strategy experience and zero background with the client, who’s been on a +3yr data journey. For the first few weeks the team consisted of one person. I was just offered a job with the state government. It’s a pay cut of about $60-80k (and a much lower ceiling) but it means I’d be working 40 hours a week, wouldn’t have to stress about billables or bringing in clients, and would actually get to enjoy my time off again.
