EY folks... so this training calendar. I can select one event per fiscal year and firm will pay travel expenses, yes? Any suggestions? How's the project Mgmt class?
MD/ED at B4 M&A Tax have been approach by a recruiter from another B4 about talking with them about being a direct entry partner. How does one prepare a CV for this type of move?
Anyone else with big 4 experience looking to find a rewarding career path with an undergrad degree in accounting? What career options are out there without having to go back to school?
The long and the short of it. I was laid off a couple of months ago, the clients on the account I ran loved me. Can I hit the client up about freelance? The non-solicitation part in my severance package mentions something about a year (which hasn’t passed yet), but still I’m no lawyer and it’s mostly mumbo jumbo to me.
we should be able to expense coffee when at the client. I'm tired of drinking the watered down coffee made from the walmart coffee maker.
Desi ppl , struggling a bit with verbal communication since I moved to US. Sometimes can’t find words during client meeting so do a lot of ‘aaa’s , ‘Kind of’s and ‘sort of’. How can I improve it? I do watch English series a lot and read books but looking for other ideas that may have helped you all . Are there are classes which helps with fluency ?
My husband and I were watching the LuLaRich documentary and he pointed out the the big 4 firms are very similar to MLM pyramid schemes. 😆🤔🧐
The daily internal struggle of trying to decide if the project is legitimately poorly designed and managed, or if I'm just a dummy for not "getting it." 🤔
Had been working with an American client for last 2 years.. great rapport and work life balance. Just moved to a new project with a desi client and can immediately tell the difference.. my American client hardly ever had post 6 pm requests.. my desi client texts/calls after 6 regularly and doesn't even think its an intrusion.. anyone else experience this?
Which type of client do you hate the most: 1) the "I'll know it when I see it" 2) the "make the logo bigger... Again" or 3) the client that constantly changes their mind ?
I have been wanting to switch to advisory from audit. I have spoken up regarding this possible transfer but it doesn’t look like it will happen internally. I don’t want to leave public or B4 (cont)...
How do you stay in shape on your project?
I'm client-side, but work with an awesome media agency. I've been looking at opportunities on their site lately. How weird would it be for a client to apply to a job with the agency they're working with?
Are companies looking to hire more minorities and people who identify as LGBTQ+? I saw a post about a job listing for a Big 4 and it said it had a strong preference for people who identify as LGBTQ+ or a minority racial group. Does this mean they have a higher chance of getting the job? Not trying to start any political debates, I’m just generally curious.
Anyone else ever feel like a completely inadequate consultant? I'm struggling with performance quality on this project because I just feel dumb and it demotivates me to really strive to improve. Possibly also impacted by burnout because I performed well on other engagements and enjoyed my teams more. Just not sure where to go from here to get where I need to be.
Helped out one of my partners by attending a Will signing of an elderly client. Client walks in with gloves and a mask on. Ok, corona. Then she pulls down the mask and is a close talker. WTF
First time ever I will have to work 7 days a week during busy season to meet client deadlines.
What is the best credit card for points?
I just moved to a foreign country and I am really in need of a job. I applied to a big 4 and spent weeks making it through interviews only to get turned down, because they wanted someone with big 4 experience. How can I get big 4 experience if a big 4 isn’t willing to hire me? I feel defeated.
How difficult (relatively) is it to recruit for an MBB London office from a T15 US MBA program compared to a US office? I know it's not done often, but is that mainly due to the salary difference?
So, super weird question: Others often consider me the "smartest person in the room" but I love being challenged and called out when I'm wrong. Is this weird? Is there a term to describe this (other than obnoxious)? Asking here because for some reason in our culture it's super taboo to talk about how smart we are and we're all supposed to pretend we're less intelligent than we are too avoid looking arrogant or making others feel inferior.
Delta announced that they’re fining unvaccinated employees $200 a month. Probably easier to just mandate vaccines for anyone who flies on their airline, but this is a good step.
New AWMA... curious to know what a reasonable salary expectation is and what the growth looks like for an associate within a growing ensemble. For context, background is more analytical, taking CAIA level 2 in a couple weeks, then plan on pursuing CFA.
Applied for H1B transfer on April 29th in premium and an RFE has been issued even in these critical times. Just thought of sharing it with 🐠 here!
MBB really missed the boat on this practice area
So I am going to try and jump ship from PWC before the sale, should I start dressing in suits now so days I interview look less werid or just call out sick each day I have an interview?
Currently preparing the TAM final round interview (RRK2, GCA, Googleyness/Leadership). Any tips that you might share regarding the three of those? Thanks
Been getting approached by multiple recruiters for boutique consulting firms, and salary expectations never seem to align (mine are too high). I’m an experienced A in S& up for promotion fairly soon, which is why I benchmarked my salary expectation to SA level (140k base - even gave a slight discount there). More details: I’m happy where I am, with no great desire to move. Should I generally be setting lower expectations? What would your considerations be?
Hey! Currently Manager in Strategy with 6 YOE and an MBA. Wondering whether L4 or L5 is more appropriate for me. Thanks a lot!
Should I bother waiting for promo to start applying if I’m looking to stay in consulting short term or would I come in at ~entry level regardless? 2 YOE at ACN Strat, expecting promo to C in Nov. Generally like the work, but feel I could make more while working same or similar hours. Current base 100k, ~6% bonus, expecting that to go to ~130k (?) with ~6% bonus after promo.
Can someone in assurance tell me what's the package a audit senior who is not a qualified CA or ACCA usually get?
I switched jobs and I’m stuck doing boring, tactical briefs that don’t require real strategic thinking. I love qual research and connecting the dots with things happening in culture. Anyone have any leads on strategist/senior strategist jobs in NY that I can escape to before I become a hack?
Accenture 🐠- hearing rumors in pay bumps / right sizing salaries (finally) at perf. year end - curious for any insights on SM salary range in management consulting
