Where do you want to be in five years? Are you considering this because you don’t want to work at a firm or because you want to be a diplomat/choose a different path?

I have considered taking the FSOT to do same but I do have debt so don’t think this is realistic for me right now. I have read that those in big law generally do well as FSOs. If you want an adventure and the opportunity is there, I’d definitly take it. There are a ton of resources out there to learn more about this career path. I’d also recommend the American diplomat podcast.

That switch involves WAY more than work, that's a whole new life. If that excites you - do it! Your law degree isn't going anywhere, but the foreign service window is smallish.
