First year associate fee/salary enquiry: I work at a civil litigation firm for the plaintiff (personal injury/medical malpractice). I’d like to get insight regarding whether their proposed fee/salary offer is fair/reasonable. TIA

I started at 60k, plaintiffs PI (7 Atty firm). I get 1/3 of the fee (which is usually 33% - 40%) only for cases that I bring in. This starting salary was outdated in my opinion, and I negotiated higher salary a few years later. The fee I get is pretty standard though.

like

What about attorney fee % for cases you second chair, but didn’t bring in?

I will have a base salary which is below the average for the state, however, they are offering % of % of the attorney fee. For example, of the cases I am second chairing, if I am entitled to 30% of the attorney fee for work done, I will actually receive 5% of that fee.
Attorney fee split will be between 20-50%*

Depends where. But PI firms don’t usually pay first years very well.

is anyone familiar with pay differentials, negotiating for a temporary raise, or some other compensation for extra work? 3 coworkers on my team have recently resigned, and certain shifts are being expected to work at half staff until new hires can be brought on. if my workload is being doubled, i expect to be compensated, as they are paying one employee to do the work of two. any suggestions on wording for how to address this?

Dental $ (is $15-$22 too much?)
Vision $ (is $6 too much?)

Boutique or big 4?

I'm currently an ops manager at a big 4 in London and received an offer from a small boutique firm with 25-30% pay rise.

I'm also in the process with Accenture but I feel like I'm not sure if I'd jump just for the money but also change in environment.
What type of things would you be asking yourself if you were in my shoes and debating to jump ship?

Hi! I have worked in management roles in tech, mainly in analytics, for approximately 10 years. My TC has fluctuated (currently around 135K CAD), but it seems like it's relatively easy to breach the 100K bar, but hard to breach the 150K bar. I now work at the CBC, but I have worked in the private sector too. What is the most realistic way to move to 200K? 1) Continue moving the ladder to a VP position, 2) Switch to Pre-Sale, 3) Switch to Consulting, 4) Work from a U.S. company from Canada.

I am an associate at a mid law firm doing mostly patent lit. I like the work and getting paid close to the market rate, but I don’t think I’ll want to keep working like this in several years when I have kids. I don’t have much interest in making partner, at least at this point, and In house sounds like a bad fit for me. I’ve never heard of part-time work in this field and I’m not sure what to do. Of course I’d be willing to take a pay rate cut, but hopefully not an extreme one. Any ideas?
