Crying is OK, this is something to shed a tear over, whereas work is nothing to cry about, even though we may feel like it. Your mom losing the ability to recognize her own family is a tangible loss and loss is saddening. Don't be afraid to cry, it will prepare you for the next step in your journey. Take care and blessings to you. ❤
Oh, honey, it is ok. It is never easy to see your mom in this position. You'll be under a lot of pressure, but as someone who has been there, try to not beat yourself up for feeling one way or another. The more we accept our emotions, the less they control us. I am so sorry that you're having to go through this. Big hug.
Definitely prayers, I have been in these exact shoes. The worst. I don't know if will help but when it happened to me the airline looked at other airlines flights to see if there was a seat that could get me there faster. God speed OP.
Thanks all. Delta has been great. They oversold a flight further to get me on the earlier flight.
Thanks friends, I'm currently sitting at DCA waiting to board just trying everything to keep my mind off negative thoughts but yet not getting updates from the family which makes it worse. It will be ok. I'm sure of it. We always get through these things, right ? Ugh life. And to the hater who posted earlier F you. Sorry I just wanted to get everything on my chest out there. I appreciate my fb friends- many of you who I've met at one happy hour or another
EY2 and Manager 1, I think I speak on behalf of the Fishbowl application as a whole when I say, Fuck you!
Thanks friends. It's been a hell of a week and so painfully emotional. She's still in ICU... don't want to air out dirty laundry but since a couple of you have asked - she's doing slightly better. Some slight health issues but come to find out she was drinking half a fifth of vodka and 8-10 beers a day for two weeks and not eating. Diseases are real people. I hope she can pull through this all but we have a big battle ahead. Appreciate the support from each and every one of you.... and for all your prayers. I'm trying so hard to keep faith.
Have you ever had a personal tragedy ey2? My mom died and if I were sitting in an airport tense as shit waiting to go see her before it happenedwith I would be posting here for support. Best wishes op, pulling for you and your mom.
M1 I know you've never had a personal tragedy because if you did you'd know people deal differently. I also know you're lacking compassion, empathy and general brain cells. You think this person is most likely fake? Cool, close the thread and move on. Don't be a dick.
How is your Mom doing today? This ex ICU. nurse turned consultant has been thinking of you since you first posted. 😇🙏🏻😇
Prayers she pulls through OP. 🙏 I lost both of my parents by age 27 and it isn't easy.
Thanks guys. I'm here after speeding faster than fast from the airport. I still need your prayers. She doesn't know me; she's called her boyfriend my dad (ex husband from 10 years ago). I'm asking for your prayers for her but also for my strength for the long road ahead. I'm sure so many of you have been through this- I can't cry in front of her but the minute I walk to the ICU lobby the tears flow :-( thanks for all your support ... she's sleeping but it's a long night ahead.
@E2... Sometimes it helps to just say what is bothering you. Anonymity helps too. Plus, being stuck at the airport there isn't much else OP could do besides wait.. Doesn't sound so absurd. Thoughts and best vibes OP
So sorry OP. Be strong!
🙏🙏🙏🙏⚪️ OP, I hope to not have to send 5/5
3.5 hours until home.
It'll all be fine my friend. May the force with you!
OP, you're a gem of a son and you did all you could. Good things happen to good people and hope dies last. Be strong, and optimistic even though it must be the toughest thing right now. Your mom will definitely be fine before you know it. Praying for you and your family!
So what am I supposed to do while sitting on a plane M1? Write a novel? Cry into a glass of sparkling water? Thanks for caring. Dick.
Baba Mehar karke 🙏🏾
God bless your mom and you!
