Utilize available campus resources and always be prepared. My university had a ton of career fairs and networking events. They usually post what companies are going out and sometimes what majors they are looking for. There were even pop-up recruiting booths. Use the school’s career portal and LinkedIn to apply!
1) I always carry 3-5 physical copies of my updated resume and a suit in my car - just in case
2) Every career fair, I select 5-15 companies I would like to speak to. Do my research, have questions, and go network. I ask for their contact information to email them after.
3) Keep up with the trends and do some side projects. When I was recruiting, PowerBI was just started popping. I learned about it and created a (useless) dashboard. Surprisingly, people liked it.

You transfer out of NC state to a better school after getting good grades.
The university should have job/internship fairs. Those should be a start.
