Fishes with UX/UI experience at clients?

How do you best collaborate with other roles at the project that might be pushing back on your design ideas? I.e. business analysts, product owners, solution architects.

What type of push back are you getting on your designs

like

A (non UX) role that has different opinions than me. When I was proposing my design to this colleague, they were shaking their heads saying it’s not exactly what they wanted and proposing their idea instead. Didn’t want to go with any of my proposals. Which is different than I normally experience with other colleagues who are more considerate.

Should I be setting boundaries here and continue my way, or should I be accepting their opinions without any push-back from my side?

Make sure you are listen and fully understand the feedback before pushing back

like

Usually the pushback is due to time/ budget/ tech feasibility

like

UX design is a compilation of data:
- what are business goals
- interviews with internal and external users to see where friction is
- native platform templates to leverage (vs custom front end coding) ie if you are using Salesforce B2C commerce, leverage their templates
- underlying tech landscape (to understand complexity of implementation)
- market best practices

So take all that and this helps inform the design. See where the pushback lies and look at it from their angle. Make sense?

Guys, I need a suggestion from everyone one of you. Salary for my experience as per current market standards in 28 to 30 LPA, which is almost 80 to 90% increment from my current CTC. Should I look for switch now or should I wait for another appraisal, as I am currently onboarded for a new project. I am thinking it will create a bad impression if I switch when I am entering into a new project, so thinking to switch after 6 months. What is your suggestions, please comment

Have some quick concerns . Pls ping back or happy to discuss on call

How do I nicely tell a director (not the one I report to) that I don’t want to work on a project that she’s trying to get me on? My manager and I already had a conversation about me not working on this specific thing (he and I both agree it isn’t something that’ll help my case for promotion, doesn’t need three people working on it, etc). Manager said he’d talk to her but it isn’t sinking in…

Okay something kind of weird happened. Started a new project today with all new people. We met in person today and manager left for home after checkout around 5PM. Three Associates on my team were planning to get dinner, I said I was going to bail to go workout and eat at home. This girl screams at me in front of the whole floor “you are so fake!! you are not going to workout. you’re being fake.” I’m just standing there in shock like what? She’s like “what are you even going to do at the gym”…

Anyone have any advice on how to get into ESG work without any direct client/industry related experience in this field. Have 5 years of tech implementation experience which seems to have almost 0 transferable skills to ESG. I’ve messaged folks from firms on LinkedIn, tried networking, attending online webinars, reading everything I can get my hands on so I can somewhat speak the language, however can’t get any bites. Do I need to get an Mba or advanced degree or should I continue to reach out ?

Hi everyone,

Can anyone please refer me to Salesforce position in your organization? I have 2 years of experience in C and C#. I currently work for an international banking client. I'm confident that I'll do well as a Salesforce developer. I gained considerable amount of knowledge on Salesforce Admin and Developer concepts via Trailhead. It would be really helpful if anyone turns up.

Need to get back to staffing agency today on new rate. Client is another consultancy which has the client relationship. Not ideal but it is what it is. Before I interviewed, agency told me it’d be a 40 hr/week project at $90/hr 1099. Now consultancy is saying the approved SOW is only 20 hrs/week. I asked if they’d be willing to offer a higher rate and they seem willing to entertain so I’m wondering how much I should ask? My usual rate is $120. Should I start there or higher?

I’m in between jobs and starting a business (a website for creatives, where I’ll add paid elements like courses, a private community, digital products, etc.). I’ve been thinking I need to start it as a side hustle before I can scale it into something that can replace my FT income—but I hear about so many entrepreneurs who are able to secure startup funding. I’d love to dive all in to this project, but I’d need financial backing of some sort. Any suggestions or ideas? Thanks!

Looking for some success stories. My friend transferred a PGA tested embryo but baby stopped growing at 7 weeks - right after hearing the heartbeat. Just signed a job offer in London (currently in the US). Would love your help with some questions re: the Skilled Worker Visa (formerly known as Tier 2 Gen.)
1) Is getting your employer to apply for a 5-year visa generally a battle? SPHR exam- has anyone ever been “randomly selected” for an application audit? This just happened to me and the sheer amount of effort that is going to go into collecting all the documents almost makes me not want to follow through. Since I didn’t finish undergrad, they’re asking for a copy of my high school diploma or transcript and that itself is going to be an absolute nightmare to get hold of. Guess I’m not really looking for a solution here, just venting.

Ladies...did a zoom date with this guy I met on a dating app. When he ended the call he said we should talk again and then meet in person. I texted him the morning after our call to let him know about something we discussed on the call, which I was supposed to get back to him on. He responded to that, but I was thinking I would text him back at the end of the week to see if he wanted to chat again sometime next week. Does that seem needy?

I left my previous firm partly because of the traumatic experience I had with this person. I have had several panic attacks/breakdowns since finding out last month on the prospects of them joining.
