Fishies - Any recs for providers in Chicago?

I'm using Fertility Centers of Illinois; they've got a few Chicago and suburban locations. Also received a referral for Dr. Wood Molo with Rush but she had a long wait list at that time so we ultimately went with FCI.

Institute for Human Reproduction

I've been at patient at Northwestern Fertility and Reproductive Medicine for 4 years - been through it all there - 4 IUIs, 5 retrievals, 5 transfers (fresh, frozen), you name it lol! FWIW - I have a 1.5 year old and am pregnant with my 2nd. If I had to give them a rating it would be 6 or 7 out of 10. I've had a positive experience with my doctor there, but know the primary communication is through the nurses (whom I also really liked, but it's luck of the draw), you very rarely see your engage with your doctor. All of the procedures are rotated (retrievals, transfers, HSGs, etc.), so you may get your doctor if you get lucky, but probably not. They are a well oiled machine, great hours, 7 days a week, nearly year-round except for end of December. That being said you can face lengthy cycle waits between cycles, the operations staff can be rude, you really have to be your own advocate and push for your own care if something doesn't seem right. I've also had a 2nd opinion from Dr. Zumah at UofC, whom I really liked but can't comment outside of consultation.

IVF1 in Naperville has been top notch! Really high success rates. This location is not in Chicago proper, however.

Fertility Centers of Illinois - Dr Allison Rodgers! She also has a ton of info on Instagram and tiktok that are pretty informative

Thanks all.

Hi folks,

I need your thoughts on getting multiple offers like 6 or 7 offers from different MNCs and banking companies and then selecting only one company. After accepting the offer, if I deny at the last week, do all these companies blacklist me? What if I didn't accept the offer and decline it at the starting itself. Will it be again kind of blacklisted? How does it impact me in the future again if I am giving interviews to the same companies? Will they even consider interviewing me?

Hi all,
I graduated during Covid with a double major in business administration and business management with a minor in marketing and magically ended up in sales because I needed a job. I’m about to take a data analytics course to make an attempt to break into that field. I’m currently looking for a mentor to help guide me during this time. Also, if anyone is willing to look over my resume and give me tips on how to make it more presentable for recruiters in DA that would be very helpful. Thanks

Not much of a rise and shine person more of a caffeinated and hope for the best.

Anyone else feel this ? Monday’s suck 🥴

PE investment 🐠, how often do you do CDDs to actually diligence the asset and you would be happy if the report is not fully positive vs. you have already decided to acquire the asset and just need a positive report to convince the IC and lenders?

Do PE companies know that many CDD partners would make their team’s life miserable if the story is not positive because they think investment teams won’t work with them as often if they raise red flags? All T2 firms do it, many MBB partners do it too.

Anybody here work in Canada? Specifically Vancouver? The cost of living here is outrageous, and I feel like I don't have a fair compensation. I'm currently making $75k with a $5k bonus as an EA with 6+ years experience, and 5+ years experience in my company's industry. Our company doesn't give out yearly inflation raises, so I feel like I'm falling behind. Is this fair, or should I be going after more? Can anyone in Vancouver, Seattle, Canada etc. shed some light on their salary?

Hi all

My name is Ankush Ghosh. I am currently serving notice period in Infosys. I have a total experience of 2 years and 2 months as system engineer, with main expertise in Java and its framework(Spring, microservice). I would be obliged for some vacancies and obtain certain referrals from this platform.
Thanks in advance.

I am a pre-law student (undergrad senior) who will apply to law school very soon. As someone who is interested in international corporate law, I am stuck between 2 educational paths:

1) Obtain my JD here in the US
2) Obtain law degree in the UK (LLB). Come back to the US for my LLM in international law. Then take the NY bar exam. This option is cheaper for me at the end of the day.

My concern is the job opportunities. I keep hearing that the LLM is not respected as much as the JD. 1/2

Did my 4th embryo transfer today. Currently in the two week wait. Any June transfers here?

I did a quick estimation and there’s a possibility that the egg retrieval day might be in the end of my client project. The difficulty is that you don’t know which day it is until maybe 2or3 days ahead. How do you guys handle this last-minute PTO day? Taking the whole week off doesn’t make sense either since it’s end the of project. Thank you!

Did you do anything different leading up the transfer / any advice on what to expect, i.e. exercise habits, limiting caffeine, etc.? I have the saline ultrasound this week, (hoping it's not as bad as the HSG), then I hope I'm cleared to start prepping!

Maybe TMI but has anyone had spotting a few days before FET? I just started the progesterone last night, and I’m on 6 estrogen patches. Today I have spotting. What does this mean?

Starting with our very first IVF cycle this week and kinda nervous 🤞
Nurse says retrieval to happen tentatively around 18th Dec but then transfer can take place in early February too considering genetic testing takes weeks. Is this the norm? Just fearing the team is not unnecessarily delaying things owing to holiday break.

Any thoughts from anyone on freezing embryos (with donor sperm) after freezing eggs? I only very recently froze eggs as I turned 35. When I started thinking about this a year ago (Single) my follicle count was very high but dropped by almost half in the past year. I was able to freeze 18 eggs. I now have a partner but it’s only been some months so I’m trying not to factor him into my previous plans. I had planned to do another cycle for embryos but using donor sperm. Thoughts on the risks?

Question on type of prenatal vitamins used to prepare for IVF - which over the counter prenatal do you use? Do you think it’s worth ordering more expensive ones like theralogix?

Has anyone seen a naturopath for fertility? In addition to an RE to augment IVF treatment. Is it helpful or quackery? I’m planning to do an FET in Jan, have had several losses/failures and can’t tell if this is an act of desperation.

34 and 9 weeks pregnant. Still haven’t even told my mom as my husband is still not convinced we should ever be parents. He has a congenital condition and will likely need an organ transplant at 60 according to docs. So he wants to enjoy our lives and not be tied down. It makes sense. Unsure if I will ever regret this. It’s emotionally too much to handle.

Finally got two PGT normal embryos from my third ER. My lining got to 10 during all of the retrievals and I have regular periods, and I’m doing IVF for genetic issues not fibroid/polyp or hormonal issues. How likely am I to end up with a live birth? Will the Dr level set with me or will they never do that to control expectations?

I’m 38 with no kids. My husband and I are planning on starting a family in the next year. I’ve been offered another job which is definitely better than my current job. The only thing that holds me back from accepting this job is that I don’t want to start a new job and get pregnant shortly thereafter. But I feel like my fertility clock is ticking and I can’t wait too much longer. Thoughts? Advice?

TTC from 3 months now, 32 years age and I can’t stop thinking about the possibility of infertility. Any suggestions?

Just realized we are spending close to $20K and counting out of pocket. Didn’t think it would cost us this much when we have insurance coverage with fertility benefits… so far 3 cycles, 1 transfer no success yet. How much is everyone paying? Thinking we may have to switch insurance at open enrollment. Currently have BCBS…

Microdose lupron protocol: 25 IU lupron twice a day =50 IU, 450 gonal f and 150 menopur daily =600 IU. How does this protocol look like? Very concerned w Lupron and stims are really max since day 1

Anyone done clomid without IUI and had success? How many cycles did your doctor allow? For background, my RE initially said I could do clomid w/ timed inter course since my husbands sperm analysis was good. Now they are saying they have changed their policy and only recommend clomid w/ IUI.

Retrieval done, 26 eggs later! :) Good luck to all of you with retrievals coming up or are somewhere in the process! Fingers crossed for strong embryos!

Egg freezing- one cycle or pay upfront for two? There’s a small discount and they will refund the difference if I decide not to proceed with the second. Numbers look good but you never know, and quality is never guaranteed... thoughts? I don’t want to psych myself out ...

Bruising after progesterone shots???
How long do these last? I’m 20 weeks pregnant and can still see light bruising from these shots. Is that normal?

Any success stories out there after multiple failed FETs? Feeling discouraged after learning of my second failed FET. Would welcome any words of encouragement or recs for questions for my RE.
