What was your first industry title and salary?

ACN SM here. I did the math yesterday and my annual base salary/no. of hours worked per week (either actively working or stressing about work) comes to peanuts! I did this bcos an NGO has made me an offer that is significantly lower than my base, but the hours are more reasonable - so suffice it to say my hourly rate is better. I'm torn.. lower salary/better WLB vs more $$$ but no life
Getting my bonus next week and was thinking of taking $10k from it and dumping straight into VOO. Good idea? Anything I should be mindful of with the current economy. Don’t expect to pull out or need it anytime soon.
I got a $8,000 raise for year end and promotion, and no bonus. I just got written offer from other big 4 for 40k more then I am making at Deloitte.
Anyone get promoted mid year After receiving the bonus/review? (No pay increase for the promotion)
Got verbal offer, want to educate myself on LTIs specifically restricted stock units. If the company says the compensation includes 50k RSUs, does that mean 50k granted each year, or a cumulative one-time amount that could be granted over several years? Or could it mean both without further information?

What is the salary range for a Senior Associate in PwC’s valuation practice? Does it range by group (financial modeling v. Core valuation)?
What’s your thought on moving from Morgan Stanley to Nomura? Title remains the same and a 30% salary increase
Why does everyone put Tech / FAANG on such a pedestal, claiming it’s better than MBB. Sure, the comp and WLB may be better, but you won’t be doing as meaningful and impactful work e.g. Govt Covid response, Gates foundation projects, industry defining projects in the space of a few months etc
Hello, can someone please elaborate the key differences between EY GDS and EY India - strength in India, work life balance and salary bands for Senior Consultant (Band3/4). Any other major point that I might be missing is welcome. Any inputs here would be highly appreciated.
Can anybody at frog design verify if glassdoor is accurate for Associate Strategy Director comp? $175k with no bonus, seems low?
You guys, what’s a weekly rate? This kinda smells like some bullshit.... isn’t is just a way to make you work weekends for way less money than you’d normally make with a day or hourly rate?
What is the salary range for SM in Accenture UK, London based? Do they offer RSUs as well?
Junior lit associate interviewing for a junior transactional position. How I explain why I want to change practices? (I don’t really know what transactional attorneys do but I do hate my job lol). In all seriousness, I am applying because I have heard good things about the firm and like the practice area (land use).
If the big4 has an up or out model, do a lot of senior managers get laid off? Not everyone can be a partner/principle. How long can someone be a partner/principle for?
My husband and I have been wanting to start “trying” for a baby for a while now. However, I’m unhappy in my current role and would like to make a jump somewhere else. I have a few early interviews lined up but it’s still early days and no telling where they’ll go. Is it silly to put off trying until I find a new job? On the contrary, is it problematic if I accept a new role down the line while a few months pregnant? Either route feels like a compromise. Appreciate any input from mamas out there.
Starting a new role soon where I’ll be managing a team for the first time in my career. What are some examples or traits that good leaders have displayed in your past? I want to develop into a healthy, supportive boss but unfortunately have only experienced toxic bosses so my resources on how to do this are limited.
I am a Senior Consultant on an engagement for a client I would like to work for. The client is back office and the job is front office. Does anyone have any experience with this?
How to transition into a manager role when you promoted? How you approach the leadership team to own more responsibilities and opportunities?
These are the threads we should frame and hang in all agency lobbies instead! "Just got laid off. Just found out I’m pregnant. Someone say it’s going to be okay, because that seem..." See full post https://joinfishbowl.com/post_2r395j
I know this group is for exit opportunities but, Im not ready to leave big 4 because I think I still need to learn alot since Ive only been here a year. Has anyone switched firms bc of toxic culture environment/ unappreciative team? Thinking of switching firms in December to finish out another year or so in PA. Worried about change but need it
Just learned from a colleague that they were selected for GS-13 off the street without an interview. Is this common?

Looking to improve my verbal communication and interviewing skills. I am not very succinct and tend to ramble on. My vocabulary and phrasing is pretty standard and many times I struggle to find the right words. I do well when I am prepared but do an okay job with speaking on the spot. I want to get sharper in my verbal communication and more confident. For context, I am not a native speaker and at the SM level going for Partner in a couple of years.I would love recommendations on how to improve.
Worked hard, won business and asked for a raise - got 10%. Now closer to median salary for my YOE. But it’s not in effect until my first year anniversary which is 2-3 months away. Should I accept the raise or negotiate?
Is there a way to automate money transfers to India in Indian currency ? Currently use zoom and don’t think there is a way
I am almost 2 years into my H1B. They haven’t started my I140 but when I joined told me that I would be eligible in a year of which I am coming up on in this Oct. I got a new offer today but they told me that they would apply I140 after a year from when I join. The pros of the new one is TC more than 18k with sign-on of 15k (not sure clauses for this) and better wrk-life bal). My question is, how long into H1B is it advisable to have an I140 applied for. Would 3-4 years into my H1B be too late?
I’m looking for a job change, not instantly but in the near future, particularly in FANNG. I’m looking for a senior management position but coding is not my strongest asset. Does anyone have any advice? I want to study and prepare for the role and not just randomly keep applying..
On a call with the CEO talking about diversity and they compare a person with tattoos experiencing prejudice in the office to Black people colleague experiences... Meanwhile last I checked, a tattoo was a choice and removable. Also depending on placement, you can’t see it.
