My visa expires on July 25th. Will apply for renewal around January. Can I travel outside of the country during christmas?
Anyone here who works at Venable? In IP Department ideally. Looking for your thoughts about firm culture generally, work life-balance, how the atmosphere is for women, how the working relationships between staff and attorneys seems, how turnover is these days, etc. Am considering applying for a position there that would remote working and I think would be a job that does work for all of the offices that have IP groups (which may be all of them?)
Are these positive signs during the final round interview with the big boss i had today? 1) asked for my timeline and when i can start the earliest, 2) listed all the political challenges the team is facing today and neighboring teams that are difficult to work with. Am i over-reading?

Thinking of moving from San Diego to Austin, Texas. SoCal has been great to me, but I’m over it. For those who have moved to Austin in the last year or two, are you happy with the move? (Single, 27yo, M)
Anyone know what the salary range is for an international tax cpa, S1 or S2, at a big 4 in Nashville?

Hello Need to decide between Wells Fargo 21.5 LPA incl variable + 2.5 Joining bonus Honeywell 25 LPA Value Labs 27LPA + WFH
Does anyone know what recourse a NYC tenant has against a neighbor with a dog that barks incessantly. I like dogs- I get dogs bark. But I’m WFH and have zooms and this is becoming a nuisance. Has anyone dealt with this before/any advice? Should I try to talk to the neighbor or will that screw me over/risk retaliation if and when I have to write a formal complaint to the landlord office...
I work with several people with kids and I have noticed quite often that they completely disregard any issues of people with no kids and try to one up work life imbalance conversations with stories of them being parents. It must be hard being a parent but I don’t think people at work should be treated differently or given any additional consideration just because they have a kid. You already get parental leave so If I’m expected to work 12hr I ask the same to be expected from my peers with kids.
Gf and I are thinking about working remote for a month during upcoming Chicago winter. Any recommendations on places to go or has anyone here gone somewhere and loved it? Ideally looking for somewhere warm (san Diego maybe?) or open to international (London?) If its exiting though weather wouldn’t be great. Thanks!
Overheard. P1- I workout at home P2- I have a 35lb baby so lifting him counts right P1- you are lucky you can have kids P1- *WTF look* P2- I lost my ability to have babies couple of yrs ago *crickets*
How does the hiring process work? I interviewed with 4 people (manager, senior manager, partner, partner) who actually makes the decision of whether to hire me?
Staff 2 in tax, senior 1 in Oct. Not sure if I want to continue working in tax, are switches into a CBS role common? Potentially interested in a finance or recruiting role. Anyone have a similar exp?
Last week I was given amazing news that I was pregnant. Today, after my repeat blood work results, I was told my HCG levels aren’t rising adequately. I am crying in the bathroom stall at work.
One of my personal goals this year is to become certified. SHRM seems to be the most popular option, and I'd love to hear your suggestions! Thank you in advance!
Why does PwC's severance package suck so much? I've never been through something like this previously, no I guess I have nothing to compare it to, but everyone who has keeps telling it's insulting. SA
