Yes. Less points for non-united.

Always fly United, or make sure your flight gets booked on a United ticket (i.e., an e-ticket number that starts with 016). Then you’ll earn as if you’d be flying United. The only thing it won’t count for it Lifetime Miles and sometimes you still won’t get the PQD, but it’s better than what you just got

Search for Partner Mileage earnings. It will show the earnings for each fare class

Always better to fly United (ticket starts with 016)

Probably related to the different fare classes of each ticket. T class is probably heavily discounted so fewer miles earned

But you do understand how the fare classes are different with completely different rulesets? Even if they are both considered “discount economy"

In my experience (on this exact route) the United flights are generally more expensive than the air canada ones. This being said I generally book like 4 days in advance

In general, you will earn more if the “metal” (ie airplane) matches the frequent flyer # or is booked though through your FF airline. Had you booked through AC for and AC flight, mileage might have been similar to UA on UA.

How can we buy tickets that starts with 016.. it's the system generated isn't it ?

Or it’s a United flight “Operated by Air Canada”. If you book it like that, you’ll book an alliance flight on a United ticket

How often are critical roles at your company vacant? I’ve been at my current company for >4 years, and I was reflecting on how we seem to constantly be under-staffed. Every time someone leaves, we treat it as temporary that everyone else will need to stretch themselves and pick up the slack, and eventually we do fill that role, but then someone else leaves shortly afterwards, and we are back to being stretched again. It’s super tiring, and I wonder how normal it is.
