People are soft now a days and don’t read the fine print of you’re an at-will employer - which means you can be let go for any reason with or without warning. The business owes you nothing and life is not fair. Stop complaining about who’s doing what, ranks, who’s voting for who, who likes you and who doesn’t, benefits at other firm compared to yours, this right and that right and ask yourself the last time you HELP yourself. The sun will come out tomorrow and no one really cares. Help yourself

Got "let go" at a big 4 strategy group during probation. I recognize the errors that I made and I have definitely learned from the experience. However, I think strategy consulting is what I want to do right now and I want to apply at the competition. The market conditions couldn't be better. But my story is not the easiest to tell. I assume recruiters know right away what's going on, even if I come up with compelling arguments. Any best practices / tips you can share?

It’s crazy that people know computer science and get paid like $95k with 2 YOE. I have 0 skills other than talking fancy and some ppt and I get $~140 TC at 2.5 YOE. I know this sounds like a flex but I genuinely don’t understand the labor market. Why don’t a lot of tech folks outside of the big tech companies get paid more?
